A visit to St.Johns would be incomplete without a visit to the Crow's Nest. Margret Morris's knowledge of the place is encyclopedic and she spins a story that transports you back in time. Call or email first and check out the website. Buy a book. Make a donation."

Awesome pub. Very historical. Has the periscope from a captured world war 2 German submarine. It requires constant maintenance though, and while functioning may not always have a clear view due to condensation. The beauty of this historic pub commemorating those that defended our freedom on the high seas, is simply world class.

A legendary place for mariners. I was fortunate enough to get an impromptu tour from the incredibly knowledgeable Margaret Morris. Very worth the stop, particularly for anyone interested in the Battle of the Atlantic.

An amazing historical spot. We visited during a heat wave and there is no air-conditioning so we didn't stay longer than one drink because it was unbearably hot. It's an old building so it's expected. We enjoyed looking at all the ships crests and other things hanging on the wall. Husband was in the navy and had never visited before even though he had stopped many times in St John's with various ships.

An incredible jem and if you can make it up the stairs I highly recommend. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and the history contained in worth the trip alone.
