I have been involved with United for Literacy, previously Frontier College, since fall of 2019, first as a volunteer and then as an Intern. My experiences with United for Literacy have been invaluable in helping me learn about future career paths and in working on my skillset throughout my professional, academic and personal life. I've had the pleasure of working with so many talented and compassionate staff members and volunteers and I am incredible thankful for all the experiences I've had at United for Literacy. Their mission gives me so much hope for a better tomorrow.

I love a place that teaches people how to read. They don't want to walk your path with you, they just want to help you get ready to take your next steps on your journey.

Frontier College has helped many disenfranchised and marginalized individuals attain their GED, get better jobs and go on to higher education. I have had the pleasure of working with Rosita and Kinda as a tutor in the Beat The Street program and have always been impressed by their professionalism and commitment to putting the learners first. It’s a tough job, but they give their all to the learners, some of whom have homelessness, addiction and mental health challenges.

I had learned a few things and met some decent people here. Unfortunately my experience here was ruined by Kinda and Rosita. They were rude, obnoxious, and judgmental towards me. I was going though some difficult times in my life and they just decided for whatever reason to make the wounds even worse. Kinda had called me emotionless because I was depressed. I always got the impression that they didn’t like me and that I’m not welcome here. I also hated some of the other staffs too as they were unfriendly and had body shamed me for being short and skinny. I will never come back here because of how I was treated by these people. In my opinion, Kinda and Rosita shouldn’t have this type of work with their attitude. I truly hate those two with a burning passion. I have no respect for any of these people.

Amazing Tutor and environment. Unfortunately it is a little far for me but it is worth it.
