Vancouver Bullion & Currency Exchange (VBCE)

I was there exchange CA$ for £ early April 2023. The Pound Sterling bills I was given are the old bills and I was running like crazy in the UK looking for a place to exchange them for new bills. All the retails and restaurants are no longer accept the old bills which are out of circulations. All the banks in the UK refused to take them because I was not their bank customers, not until a kind bank manager told me to exchange them at the Royal Post Office. Please do not do this to other customers. The bullion should have known this. How disappointed !!

I understand the negative reviews and the lines are long and people have an idea of what they should be getting in their heads.The lines are long for a good reason. Their cash exchange rates are pretty good, based on the Bank of Canada rate they are selling at 4.5% exchange on the foreign currency I was buying. Based on what I can see they carry just about every currency in the world.The staff is very professional but working hard, so you can tell they are tired.I would recommend getting there before 5 pm on the weekdays since the crowds are bad all the time but especially from 5 till close. Also metrotown has paid parking lot which sucks.

Went there yesterday around 5:50 PM to exchange US dollars. The girl who helped me was extremely rude. I thought maybe because of the closing time? But still, does that give her the license to be rude with someone? Won’t be returning here. She looked in her mid 20’s with tattoos on the shoulders/arms.

Horrible lineups all day / yet they never open all kiosks like a cheap filthy supermarket. If you want to stand around for hours in a covid-infested mall then come here.

Always a lineup 100% of the time. About a 15min wait on average. Plus the rates aren't the best. Just walk 5min to Happy Currency Exchange on Kingsway where there's never a lineup and the rates are ALWAYS better! You're welcome!

Make sure you don't go there after the market closes, because apparently all the traders are already gone at that time. I got a really bad rate and when I told the customer service representative I believe he was calculating it wrong, I was told by his manager that customer service employees are not traders

Wish they were processing a little faster over here. They give a good exchange rates, but

I just came back from my great trip to Mexico and my trip went smoothly thankfully because of the great, selfless and caring team VBCE has here. A VBCE employee who did my exchange called me to inform me that I left my wallet in their office. We all know the stress of travelling so I was freaking out. I asked if I could pick it up that night because my flight was at 7 am the following day. After speaking with Nicole (manager) and upper management, the upper management met with me and drop my wallet during after-hours. I think they were the owners, but they went out of their way to ensure my wallet was returned before my flight. I could have not been more thankful for the great customer service they have here. I don't know what I would do without my IDs, credit cards and more. I tried to give $$ as an incentive for them to deliver my wallet, but they refused. There are really good people out there! I am ensuring I continue my money exchange needs at VBCE in the future.

I used to be a customer of VBCE Metrotown till today. I arrived there at 6:02 pm a lady attempted to close the door and argued that they are closed. I tried to explain to her that I have CAD and need USD before my trip which is early morning but she didn’t care and said I can’t help you. It’s usually the extra mile and the entrepreneurship that makes a business successful and a client feel appreciated. I certainly felt she didn’t care and that she was a regular employee who has to close the door at 6pm regardless of any last minute needs for a customer. The good news however is that, because of Nicole the employee of VBCE, I discovered that the happy currency exchange is a bit cheaper (by a few cents not a whole lot) but the point is that small businesses can sometimes go the extra mile for customers. No thanks to VBCE.

One of your employee just cost you a loyal customer! The rudest customer service I’ve ever had. She treated me like I don’t understand English, and when I asked her “Can you please pull up my profile and check? “ She goes “What’s the difference does it make? “ Well, I guess not as I won’t be returning.
