we came in the restaurant was not busy. We had to grab our own menus. I came with three people two of us got served. The third got served when two of us were finished our meal. We asked for a top up for our coffee. He completely ignored us. The service here is horrible. I would not recommend to anybody.

6 of us arrived for breakfast with coffees and teas. The service was quick in receiving our beverages and the taking of orders and then... we waited, over a half hour before burnt sausages, dry over done eggs and un-buttered toast arrived. The home fries were excellent, the coffee was great, everything else - not so much and all that for $120.00 Will we return? NO !

We ate at the Red Onion, after hearing this place was underrated. It is! Great service from when we walked in the door. Elizabeth was friendly and provided great service, even when it got busy with the dinner rush. We ordered the calamari and quesadillas, both were amazing! Also had the fish tacos and steak sandwich. They were cooked to perfection and the serving size was perfect. Would highly recommend if you’re driving by or stopping at the Esso!

Stopped in for a late lunch. 4 star because Restaurant is very nice, clean & tidy. Staff helpful & friendly. Food rating would be 3 star. We were disappointed to find the food was “bland”. Hub had a banquet burger & I had fish tacos. Both meals seemed to be missing something. The tacos didn’t have cabbage or guacamole under the fish, just a bit of shredded lettuce. Appearance of both meals was very appealing to the eye (see pictures) but taste was definitely missing something. Wish we’d ordered breakfast instead.f

It wasn't busy at all when we dropped by past the lunch rush. Friendly servers, hardy diner fare. Breakfast menu until 3 pm. The signature Red Onion burger is a massive double patty with bacon heart stopper. Yum!It's also very family friendly with a kids menu and a change table in the washroom.

I liked to dine in at this place a lot. Food and quality were always good and fresh. However, they have such rude staff. I had two bad incidents and therefore stopped visiting them.I was never charged extra for the meat substitutes but one of the staff (the shift changed for lunch hours) asked me to pay half price of the dish for a meat substitute. I showed her the last several visit receipts as she didn't believe me. I complain to the owner and he resolved it. Next time as soon as I entered and wanted to place an order she bluntly told me you've to pay for the substitute otherwise you'll not be served.I use to like their pasta and grilled salmon.

Excellent poutine, wrap and service, the chef actually made me his first Blooming Onion in the RedOnion. Definitely a great place to grab a bite to eat. If I'm ever that way again, we will definitely stop again.

I recently visited Red Onion , and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. This family restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.The menu offers a wide variety of options, including many family-friendly dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Seafood Fettuccine, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent value for families on a budget.The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure that our dining experience was exceptional. They were happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions we had, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied.Overall, I would highly recommend Red Onion to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable meal in a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere.
