staff: very friendly and helpful.service: quick service.establishment: great space. Lots of tables. We were there on a Friday night - DJ to start the night and a band was setting up for later on in the evening (we did not stay for the band). But the place was filling up and looked like it would be a fun night (older crowd)!food: we were there for their crab boil (last Friday of every month). Great value for $. Good sized crab - great flavour. Would be nice to have extra sides - more potatoes or a nice rice & More veggies. We ordered garlic toast from their menu to go along with our meals.

The bartenders that I have been served by are polite, professional and kind people. They make the bar more than a bar.Thanks Chad, Eric, Dell and Cory.Also the doorman/security are excellent at their jobs and they are so welcoming. This was the first karaoke place I've ever been too, and ever since then I've been here aplenty. First and foremost everyone is kind here, whether it be the security staff* bartenders or the patrons. Was even lucky enough to shake hands and talk the owner recently and he was nothing but classy. Themed nights like Salsa night are really cool and the setup in terms of how the venue is structured is very well done. A best friend of mine even works here as a cook and all I hear are positive experiences about everything. Whether it be catching a day of the week themed deal, seeing someone slaying it on stage with the mic or the DJ providing a good ambient, OTR is a fantastic place to be. I'd say my only recommendation would be a casual game..such as pinball! Or something arcade like along those lines. Cheers! -Jojo

Nice interior. Good live music.My second time visiting, and every time its so extremely overcrowded you can barely move.Nearly impossible to order food and drink on the weekend, let alone hear.Cash only.If you like extremely loud music, jam packed dance floors, waiting in ATM lines, and fighting to order drinks, this is the place for you.I will say, it is very near lots of other stores that are open late, and easy to go in and out for smokes.

My brother, my boyfriend & I were on a mission to find the best wing night in YEG. We tried a few different spots before going to On The Rocks - heard great things fromFamily & friends so we had to check it out. Now we come here all the time for wing night. The amazing selection of flavours & inexpensive price knocks it out of the park for us. We recommend the Honey Garlic, Lemon Pepper, Dill Pickle, Mango Habanero & Dry Rub Franks Red Hot. The service is always outstanding aswell. Very kind waitresses & the staff seem to genuinely enjoy working there. Definitely recommend!!

Service is amazing, wonderful workers and the food is good! However, I do wish the Mac and cheese had a little more flavour to it.The prices are not too expensive but be prepared to spend $$ because it’s not cheap either! But I would say that you are getting what you paid for because it’s good portions! Would recommend trying this place at least once if you were visiting! :)

Went here on a Friday night and our server was named Taylor. Not once did I need to ask for a drink refill,she was on top of if! she was personable, kind and actually pretty funny. She recommended the wings. Which were incredible. You can tell she’s good at her job cause I noticed people asking to sit in her section. I never really would have recommended OTR to friends till her service, I now plan on making it a frequent stop for my and my hubby

Went for the crab boil and Friday night specials. The crab boil was good and had a nice variety of crab legs, half a corn on the cob, some mussels, and sausage along with a melted butter dip. For $30 it was filling but not but the greatest bang for you buck. Extra Legs were another $25 which was little much for a “deal night”. Appies were tasty! One downside to the whole experience was our waiter(Nicole), I’ve gotten bad service before but have never been actually mistreated. Embarrassing for her to have thrown a mini tantrum at our table after we paid(involved collecting dishes so they clattered loudly and threw a napkin into a bowl so roughly it bounced out and almost fell on me… also no bid farewell at all after we paid and left). It was my first time here too, I’ll give it another go but hopefully with a waiter that makes it a good experience.Edit May: came back for the Friday deal and everything was pretty good. Most impressed with the waitress I had this time, I forgot her name since it was a little while ago but she was sooo sweet and we managed to have her rig before her shift ended!Edit Dec 2022:Booked a crab feast and was seated at a table that was a little too small to fit everything on it, but there was a ledge beside us so I just put my water and phone there. Service was pleasant but a little slow which is totally understandable with it being Friday night. Crab boil was not much of “deal” but enjoyable. Appies were a good deal but I noticed the portions were smaller especially the calamari. A bed of greens was under the calamari to masks it look like a pile of calamari when there were only a few pieces on the outer surface. Experience was so-so but the Friday deal was good so I’ll keep coming back for that! Also changing this from 2 to 3 stars :)

Came in not knowing what to expect with $2 tacos. Also ordered their calamari.Amazing honestly. Both items had a sense of feeling like they were made in a home kitchen, which isn’t bad. No over the top seasonings or oil. Also great tartar sauce.Definitely supporting this joint in the future.

Bartender was great. Went for karaoke service. Took way too long. Had to wait almost 15 minutes for a drink. When large events are happening more bartender should be on call. Other not great. Place to hang out. Great atmosphere and lots of fun people. Cool
