Jump Into Music

Monica's outdoor class was a blast. I looked forward to it every week and it was so special to see my little ones getting excited about shaking maracas and dancing with the rainbow parachute. The bubbles at the end of the class were also always a hit.As an adult it's great to go to a music class where you can appreciate the music too, the song selection always had me dancing and singing alongside my littles. We can't wait to join again in the fall!

Teacher Monica researched so meticulouslyseveral world musics to her many different lesson plans . Each presentation introduces the rhythms and one or two short traditional songs of a Nation to her very young students and their parent or adult relative .the little ones , who are all under 5 years old sing along . It is soMuch fun!

This is by far the best music program that exists out there. My kids absolutely LOVE both Monica and the program, and it’s both educational for parents and kids. The lessons taught cover a variety of genres and countries, and each season holds something new. We are on our second season in a row and my kids come home with a love for different cultures as well as vocabulary in new languages. Monica provides in depth curriculum, newsletters keeping parents informed, and her jump into music YouTube page keeps us learning and singing the songs at home.

My daughter (when she was just under one year old) and I went to the baby and toddler classes and it was such a joy for the both of us. Monica (instructor) is very talented and also very engaging. It was a very interactive program with music, movement and language to learn. Definitely something fun to do with the little one!

I’ve been coming to Monica’s outdoor class in Garden Park for a few weeks now with my one year old and we’re loving it! It’s a fun mix of ages and my daughter loves the instruments provided. The cultural background/context that Monica provides for the songs is interesting and very obviously thoroughly researched. You can tell that Monica puts a ton of work into these classes and shows up fully every time!

We’re thankful for Teacher Monica’s wonderful curriculum for enriching our lives over the past couple of years. Her class provides fantastic exposure to a vast array of music styles and genres old and new as well as languages and cultures, through song, movement, instrument show-and-tell, and storytelling.Monica‘s amazing at presenting the above in an accessible, joyful, and engaging way (maraca ‘foot’ races! So silly, so fun!)) She clearly puts so much of her heart, talent, and work into every lesson. We also appreciate the supplementary reading material, YouTube videos, and cool curated playlists she makes for each genre/style of music explored. We look forward to Jump Into Music class every week. Teacher Monica is the real deal!

I was at the music program at a drop-in family centre last week. It was certainly interesting and clear that the teacher put effort into planning the session, which I respected. However, I have one bit of feedback that I hope she will consider. She made mentions/references to alcohol in the group which I found distasteful in a program for very young children. We would never casually mention cigarettes in a positive way around our kids and alcohol is no different as it is also a carcinogen (among other things). I hope she will consider this in future sessions, however, for now I won’t be taking my little ones back as it was quite off putting.In response: the story was not appropriate for young children, nor was that the only alcohol/drinking reference. I did bring up my concerns with the drop-in and they did not respond. I am more than happy to discuss in person if we can arrange it but I will not be bringing my children back to this music program as the choice of story/song and other drinking references compromised my trust in your judgment of what constitutes wholesome family content. I don’t want to normalize a highly harmful substance to my children from a young age (even if it is culturally pervasive - cigarettes used to be as well unfortunately). I took time to reflect on the experience and wrote my review from a place of level headed honesty. I updated my rating as a gesture of good will but I hope you will consider my feedback for the sake of the kids. All the best to you

We've been taking the family to jump into music for years. Teacher Monica is a star! Such a great personality for the kids and super interesting info about music for the caregivers! Great curriculum of a huge variety of music, with new content all the time. Highly recommend!

We absolutely love attending Jump Into Music with Teacher Monica!! Every week my son will be singing the songs from class and get the biggest smile when we arrive to class each week. Teacher Monica had the best energy and makes such a wonderful connection with every single child in the class. The classes are so enjoyable not just for the kids but for the adults too, especially because the variety of songs we sing spans the decades and genres rather than only kiddie songs. Can’t recommend enough!

Teacher Monica is absolutely amazing! She's so passionate and knowledgeable. Both my kid & I enjoy her music classes.
