The Slave Lake Alberta Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has a beautiful meeting house built after the former building was destroyed by fire in 2011. We feel blessed to have been assigned here to serve as Branch President and wife for the next few years. Slave Lake and area people are good, kind and generous. We may never want to leave. We give our site, location, congregation and church a five star rating. Come and see, whoever you are and wherever you live, you will be kindly greeted and welcomed. Come and see, come and help, come and stay.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I attend the church in Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada. I feel welcomed, involved, and accepted in the congregation. I invite you to join us as a visitor, investigator, or member.

Don't go to Mormon churches people! It's obviously false. They try to brand themselves as another Christian denomination but they are not Christians at all. Even the founder Joseph Smith said as much. They don't believe in the Trinity which doesn't make sense as to who Jesus was praying to in the garden (was Jesus praying to Himself like a crazy person?)I've talked with some Latter-Day Saints a while back and it's obvious they don't study doctrine as much as you'd think they do. Every objection they had to true Christian doctrine was easily answered. Every objection I had was either not sufficiently answered or ignored.

I call Spruce Grove, Alberta home. But I have had the privilege for the last 1 1/2 years to attend The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Slave Lake for one or two Sundays each month. The people are full of faith and extremely loving and kind. Even though I am not from Slave Lake, they welcome me in as one of their own. They love God and it shows in both their words and deeds. They look for opportunities to serve the local community. They also support each other. There are some in the local congregation who are battling intense health challenges and yet they still feel a desire to serve others whenever they can, despite their own health challenges. I highly recommend stopping in as a visitor on a Sunday and seeing what it is all about. It might just change your life. I know it has changed mine.
