Motel La Gentilhommière

From the serene and scenic surroundings to the warm and welcoming hosts, everything about this hotel is worth every penny spent. The hosts were very nice and cooperative, treating their guests like family. They went the extra mile to ensure that their guests had a comfortable stay.It was my 30th birthday when we were checking out. The hosts celebrated the day with me and my friends and gifted me a bottle of red wine, on departure. This shows a lot about how much they care about their guests.The hotel also had some great outdoor facilities, like the bbq grill, hammocks, outdoor sitting area to enjoy the majestic st Lawrence river. These added an extra layer of fun to our stay. The rooms were very clean and organised, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.Overall, Motel Gentilhommiere is an excellent place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, serene, and scenic hotel near the St Lawrence River. A very homey and welcoming place, the couple running the motel are super friendly and kind. The room was large and clean, the breakfast was really nice. Convenient location to drive to the whale watching tours in a short time. The motel is very close to the main road, but the traffic is almost non-existent at night.

A family road trip , an accidental find. What a place. one of the best locations i have had the opportunity to spend a couple of nights. an 1870 heritage place a few ft away from the confluence of Noire River (Black River ) into the St laurent river. A blessed location with the ambience unmatched with the aroma of Rose all around when you take Stroll or lay in the hammock with thepleasing harmony of the flowing river humming . a sunrise@4am to remember. well kept rooms with freshly baked goodies everyday . blessed to have stayed at your place Geneviève Thibeault & Claude Chaperon passionate owners of the place and very hospitable hosts . thank you for making our stay memorable. next time looking to book the 3 bedroom suite.

Quiet location by a stream that heads towards two sandy beaches on opposite sides facing the St Lawrence River. Comfy beds and soaking tub. Coffee, tea, fresh baked cookies in lobby area. It was a perfect relaxing place to stay, just too bad we had to rush out early the next morning for our whale watching cruise. Service went the extra mile.

A truly magnificent stay here. Beautiful views that can't be beat in a cozy and clean historic building that has been lovingly maintained and made modern.Geneviève and Claude were fantastic hosts and beyond helpful in welcoming us. This will be my return spot for future visits on the Charlevoix coast.They have 5 regular hotel rooms and 2 larger suites/apartments, including the one we stayed in which has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a fully furnished kitchen, dining room, office, laundry room, living room and glassed in observation room... all to your self. The attention to every detail of furnishing, art, and remodeling detail was truly spectacular.

Very very very clean and good maintained. I think furniture was new. Beds were very comfortable. We didn't mind to drive to restaurants and Tadoussac from there and go back to stay for a night. River and huge backyard were nice bonuses to walk and get glass of wine there before sleep. Highly recommend.
