Heritage Design

Bad experience overall. We had Heritage build our deck in 2011. They did a great job. We recommended them to many of our friends, some of which had some large, large jobs completed by Heritage. I know because they told me!Fast forward to 2019, when I called them to ask for a quotation for a fence at our property. This was in February and Heritage has been extremely non-committal and disengaged in the process. I've made numerous calls to the estimator (including e-mails) asking for the initial quote, amendments to the quote (since I needed to discuss with my neighbour who is sharing the cost) and the final quote so I can pay the deposit. I was assured a quote was coming so I can pay the deposit. The only reason I kept at it is because of my previous positive experience with Heritage. Nothing has been forthcoming; no quote, no phone calls, nothing. It has been two weeks since the last contact. I am not sure why this is the case.If you don't want to do the work, please inform me up front if the job is too small or if there is another reason. I am happy to give my money to someone else if you don't want the work.Truly disappointed, I really thought this was not the case with Heritage.

Heritage Design installed a large chain link fence around a pond on our property in the fall. Honestly, I didn't know a chain link fence could be so beautiful, we were installing it for practicality and safety but with the black fencing they used and the attention to detail they applied especially with such clean lines, it really is a thing of beauty.There was a team of 3-4 people here each day and all of the men were professional and very nice. Also, their quote came in quite a bit below the others we received. We're very satisfied.

Tl;Dr - very professional work that we are extremely pleased with, but it took a long time for the work to start.We had a wood fence, metal fence, and metal gate put in along a property line to help manage the conflict we have with the neighbours on that side.We are very pleased with the way the fences and gate look and with the way the work was done. Each crew was extremely professional: tidy, efficient, and cleaned up the work area each day. I was also very pleased with how well they interacted with the neighbours. Those neighbours had previously made fence construction difficult for their other neighbours and we had been concerned that they would do the same to us. Therefore, it was important to us that the fence company we hired were professional and could deal with the situation if it came up. Thankfully, it didn't, I think in part because the crews were so professional.The only reason that I didn't give five stars for this review is that it took a long time after the initial visit to get the estimate, and at thethe point the work was to start, it was delayed a couple of weeks because the company hadn't got the locates done. To be fair, we had been warned that it would take a long time for the estimate to be done so we weren't surprised by that. Not having the locates done before the work was due to start was annoying, though. In the end we were very happy and would still recommend Heritage Design.

The builders did an amazing job with our deck. Exactly like the picture I had provided. Very poor communication in regards to scheduling - we were told we were put on the schedule and called to find out that we weren't even on there. However, the one builder (not sure of his name) came back on Canada day (I assume his day off) in on and off again rain to finish the final details so that we could have our deck done for the party we were having that afternoon. Overall, I would definitely recommend Heritage Design, as the final product comes out flawless - just be sure to have some patience in regards to timing.

Recently required a rush repair of our deck to avoid delay for other contractor work in process. The estimator was on site right away and arranged for a crew to perform the work quickly !The crew worked closely with our other contractors to insure the deck work was done in such a manner as to insure compatibilitywith the whole project! The Heritage crew made sure not only to repair the required areas of deck, but also to make some improvements that greatly enhanced the total project!

My husband and I hired Heritage to design and build our deck. From the initial meeting, the design, through to completion, we were impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of this company. Bob and his team provided quality workmanship throughout the project. He has an eye for detail and creativity that go above and beyond what the average deck builder can provide. They are meticulous, ensuring everything is done to perfection and looks beautiful. The entire build process went smoothly. Whenever there was an issue, and there always are a few when building anything, Bob and his crew immediately worked to devise a solution that satisfied our needs.The final result turned out better than I could have imagined. I would like you to know that our deck re-skinning was completed yesterday very much to our satisfaction. The installers arrived promptly in the morning and things seemed to be timed well for them to tear the old boards off the deck and have the new boards delivered for the install. The two installers were very friendly, professional and reliable in the work they accomplished. They responded well to the questions I raised about the install and I especially appreciate that they removed and then replaced my large deck umbrella stand without complaint even though it was a difficult task. The job was completed in less than a day.My yard was tidied up well and this morning the old lumber was removed from my front lawn in a timely manner. All in all, pleased with the work.

9 years ago I had Heritage build a 16 x 14 composite deck. At that time I did my due diligence, reviewed Heritage and some of their recent installations. The reviews of the company were fantastic, as a trusted builder I went with recommended the composite decking to be used.Fast forward 9 years, the composite decking is failing horribly.I had their representative in to quote the replacement of only the deck boards. I am reasonable, I did offer to pay the difference for an upgraded product and some of the labour. Much to my surprise, it took over 4 weeks for him to come back with a $26k replacement quote! Following is the text from his quote:“Hi folks,Please see the attached estimate to resurface the deck and steps.This estimate is for Azek 'Vintage' collection, polymer decking.The issues with your current decking is a manufacturer warranty issue and not a Heritage Design installation issue. As such, we cannot cover any part of the replacement of this decking.”I will not be proceeding with Heritage. They have offered absolutely terrible customer service.If you are looking for a company to take your money and abandon the product that they installed, then Heritage is your company.

Heritage Design knocked it out of the park! Our multilevel deck around our pool had been expanded and modified over the years and now due to age needed complete replacement. We wanted to keep the same design as much as possible as it suited our needs. The initial stages involved layout and design, followed by a detailed quotation including a very professional package with drawings, sample pictures and other details. After review of these plans we added a detailed lighting plan resulting in a revised quotation. We then booked our preferred time frame in late September. Throughout the demolition and construction phases Heritage staff were professional, courteous and helpful. The attention to small details was incredible. Minor changes were suggested by Heritage that greatly enhanced looks and functionality. Importantly once this multi week project started Heritage staff stayed on site until it was finished! We now have a showpiece in our back yard that will give us many years of enjoyment. We highly recommend Heritage Design and would certainly work with them again.Dean and Brenda Jutzi
