Foodland - Sheet Harbour

Small town grocery store. Their selection is okay for a smaller grocery store. No public washroom.

For a small grocery store in a small town, this place is well stocked with almost everything you might need and has the best staff. I went in there to pick up something for lunch on my way through and ended up at the deli counter. The guy behind the counter helped me get my pizza and a box of chicken strips. Hilariously for me, he offered sweet and sour sauce and ketchup so I asked for the sauce only, thinking I wouldn’t want to put ketchup on my chicken. He went back and then gave me several containers of the sweet and sour sauce along with several packages of ketchup. I just said thanks and left. When I made it to my car, I discovered that the boxed container not only had the largest chicken strips I have ever seen (like, really HUGE) but also home-style potato wedges. So, that’s why he offered the ketchup! Haha. And the prices were amazing. The chicken strips were $5.99 and I was willing to pay that just for the chicken, so the potato wedges were a surprising bonus. Great service, and the food was excellent too. The rest of the staff was courteous too. Store was well organized and clean as well.

The Staff are really friendly and helpful, small town charm and I'm grateful it's close enough to shop at.

The Foodland in Sheet Harbour is the only real grocery store for roughly 100 Klms. There selection is good however it doesn't compare with the bigger center stores which is a product of the size of the customer base. The staff is helpful especially Parker who will quickly find you what you are looking for. One of the true hidden gems is the roasted turkey. It is similar to the roasted chicken that most stores provide however the turkey doesn't dry out after being in the refrigerator. I've checked with Sobeys and Loblaws and no other store seems to have figured this out.

Great for a small-town grocer. Prices are more expensive than the city, but that is as expected for rural NS.

For being far away from a larger city or town it's pretty stocked with most of what you'd need. Staff was friendly but line up at cash took a long time. They had some ready made subs for me to grab a snack that weren't bad for a grab n go.

Good size for the location. Have all the basics with a good selection. Staff are friendly and helpful, knowledgable about the products stocked. Clean and plenty of room to get around even when other people are there.
