Watched the sunset over the weekend, never realized that this beauty was minutes away from our house. A great spot to cycle by and walk and jog. Amidst the old industrial relics of the city this place provides a nice experience and great city skyline. This is going to be our evening spot now.

Views of the famous flour factory sign. We rented e bikes from Bixi and rode down the canal to the Atwater market which was a good way to start a trip for the morning.

Berge des Coursiers isn't far from the Montreal Old Port Complex, but cannot be considered part of it. The fastest way to get there is to cross the bridge that leads to the Bota Spa and turn right. The Berge is just a few steps further. The little manmade lake has a lot of charm. The scenery changes in accordance with the season. If you're so inclined - and if the season and weather allow it - bring a picnic basket and plan to spend a couple of hours. The soothing sound of a small waterfall will help you relax and forget about the city that's just a couple of steps away.

It’s a very beautiful place, specially at sun set. It’s also a great spot where you can see the city skyline. Finally, the walkway is large enough that you don’t feel crowded even if it’s a fairly busy place.

As someone who loves history and nature, I recently visited the Lachine Canal National Historic Site in Montreal, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The first thing that struck me was the beauty of the canal and the surrounding nature. The picturesque view of the water and the lush greenery made for a perfect walk and bicycle ride. The site itself is well-maintained and allows visitors to appreciate the history of the canal while enjoying the natural scenery. The exhibits inside the site were very informative and gave me a greater appreciation of the significant impact that the canal had on Montreal's industrialization. The staff was also helpful in providing additional context and historical facts. One of my favorite parts of the visit was walking along the canal's pathways, which have now been transformed into a lovely pedestrian trail that winds through the heart of the city. The view of historic buildings and facades were breathtaking.Overall, Lachine Canal National Historic Site is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique mix of history and nature. It's an excellent place to appreciate the city's past and present through a beautiful path.

We rented bixi bikes a ways out from the ferris wheel and biked out past Atwater market. After the market there was not a ton more to see, but if the weather had been better I would have liked to see what was past the industrial areas which stank once you stopped moving. I was happy to see the famous five roses sign and enjoyed reading about the history of the canal and the flour mills afterwards.

I stopped by this area to get a nice glimpse of habitat 55 and it was very clear to see, saved us the trip of actually crossing over to get a closer look. This boardwalk leads you all the way up to old port where the Ferris wheel can be found, as well as vendors.

Went to see YATAI MTL, a four-day Japanese street food event, held at Les Quais at Bassin Peel in Griffintown.Opened at noon, the line was impressive. The space is dusty and very crowded.$3 entrance, toilet on site. The lines at all food kiosks were long. Many kiosks accepted cash only. The artisan section was represented by some ... Japanese pottery (made by a French person from France), some Japanese stationery (cheaper to buy online), a few pieces of clothing and some nice sauces/vinaigrette options. It is commendable that this event exists, but perhaps it should showcase more... genuine Japanese items. The location is less ideal on a hot day.
