I have lived in an ATIRA owned women's only building which is actually why I am writing this review first hand with zero Stars. As much as services like this are needed, they do not live up to their motto or their company's mission statement at all. They are supposed to be all about women and children but the reality of the situation is the exact opposite. The staff and managers pick favorites and basically run every building they own or manage like a miniature communist community where they disregard the federal and provincial laws set forth for the rights of tenants and act as though their rules are the law. Most individuals accessing a tears services are underprivileged and uneducated therefore they do not know that these tenant rules are not the law and they abide accordingly as they do not want to end up homeless again when in reality there is something called the residential tenancy act which is the actual law for all renters in British Columbia. I wish that instead of a security guard mentality these facilities staff members hold, that they would be trained in how to properly support the tenants with whom they are dealing with daily and making each tenant equal and offering the same help and services across the board. Also it's hugely recognized that they do not take the safety of women and children into consideration when housing a vulnerable woman with two young children beside a woman with a convicted sex offender as her stay in boyfriend-blows my mind how gross and money driven this company is with the front of helping women and kids". WOW. I have heard hundreds of other Atira residents and former residents complaints also which vary from safety to cleanliness to mental health concerns to staffing problems to theft to you name it. Shady shady shady."

I lived in the Dominion from 2015 until 2019. Not all of the employees are horrible people who don't care about people who they deal with or the well being, safety and mental health of women especially living in their buildings! I hope that the bad people who are responsible for horrible things that have happened to people both staff and tenants - are dealt with and held accountable for the decisions they made that ended up putting many women in danger.

Atira is supposed to be a supportive housing place and for you to get support in whatever is needed to get support with but to be totally honest in having my own personal experience with atria being supportive anything is a joke and 90% of the time the staff are no only rude or unhelpful but it felt like they did what they wanted and make it worse for you

I stayed with Atira back in 2014 and there was another resident bothering me and when I told her to leave me alone the staff overheard me and came charging out of the office acting as if we were having a fist fight. They called the police and had me removed and wouldn't allow me back into the building to retrieve my belongings. They brought a black garbage bag with about HALF my stuff inside, and when I asked for the rest, they told me to leave or they'd call the police. It had to have been staff that kept my personal effects because they were locked inside a locker the entire time I was outside my room. The staff that work in these places, sadly, are barely off the street themselves and clearly have no training or morals. These services are necessary, but continue to fail because of the staff we hire to run them. Avoid this place like the plague. Trust me, the sidewalk is better.

One of your staff members should be fired for harassment , threatening my family and my children. All because I'm with the father of her children. This organization is supposed to uplift women yet she sat there repeating she's better than I am blah blah blah .... fire her. She's useless

Bette’s Boutique: It’s Saturday and they are open. The hours of operation that listed here are incorrect. It is useless to call the number. I know that they are open for sure 9-3 to drop off donations and use their services. They are doing good work with women in the community

in the children and families single mother living it is very unsafe here and the staff believe they enter your sweet to insult you and put you down and tell you to get rid of your child and they convince you to actually get rid of your child I have a disability and they keep on attacking me when I ask for help I get zero help besides only an excuse and a lecture about how lazy I am when I have a disability and I can't get up or walk
