Over The Top Adventures

The experience well exceeded my expectations. We went a tour trip to the top of the mountains and lakes that was catered to our desires and done in an exciting and professional manner. Joe is a tour guide who is knowledgeable, friendly, and deeply passionate about his work and the places he brings people. 10 out of 10.

What an incredible adventure we had two days ago with Joe on the Ocean to Alpine tour. We rode the UTV on former logging roads up to subalpine forests and were then able to start hiking at about 1500 metres . We are older hikers and weren’t quite up to hiking to the summit that day ; Joe was extremely flexible and suggested several different routes to accommodate us .We hiked to M. Gurr Lake, (even took a quick dip in the glacial water), walked past alpine streams and through stunning meadows, and had other worldly views of the South Bentinck Arm and the Coast Mountains. As a Nuxalt himself who grew up climbing these trails, we were privileged to have his company and guidance . This is a not to be missed experience and we will try the other hikes on a return visit !

One of the best thing to do in Bella Coola. Joe is very friendly and professional guide on trails. He was very patient with us stopping here and there to take some snaps. He was telling facts and storied behind every spots. Money and time well spend. We went on waterfall run. Highly recommend to do a run with him.

We highly recommend booking a tour with Joe! My husband & I are avid hikers and have a 4 wheel drive so we debated whether to hire a guide or explore on our own but ultimately decided to book as we wanted to make the most of our limited time and we thought it unwise to hike in an unfamiliar area with no cell service and active bears. Our day with Joe turned out to be one of the highlights of our 12 day road trip. As stated by others, Joe is extremely personable, knowledgeable & accommodating. We anticipated being moved by Bella Coola's beauty but Joe made our experience so much more memorable. We hope to return to Bella Coola in the future & will book Joe again without hesitation.

My wife and I went on the waterfall tour with Joe! He’s professional and very knowledgeable about the tour area and the Bella Coola area. He tailors the tour to the individual and he is easy to talk with. He is very passionate about the area and nature and an awesome guide. He accommodated us for the tour on short notice. He was also very prepared for taking his guests into bear country and the back country. You will enjoy your day and leave with a lasting memory of an amazing tour and breathtaking scenery. An tour you must really do!

What an amazing hiking adventure. Joe, our guide, is calm, patient and has a wealth of information about bears and the area mountains where he grew up. On reaching the summit of the mountain we experienced symphony of sunlight, a flurry of snow, a rainbow and 2 excellent bear sightings and vistas that took our breath away. This hike was priceless.

What an amazing tour with Joe form Ocean to Alpine. Jumped on board side by side, Joe drove through a creek and rough road, we stepped on a trail with beautiful wild flowers. Joe brought us to his pools in his childhood, the beautiful lakes then further to the summit. The lookout is definitely impressed me! Absolutely stunning! Thanks Joe for helping us step into the awesome Backcountry. Highly recommended!

Waterfall tour was amazing and Joe was a great host. I had a blast :) Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic day out with Joe first with his off road vehicle and then hiking into the mountains. Despite the road that was closed because of a bridge that was taken down he made it possible for us to bring us up anyway so we could enjoy the beauty of the mountains up to snow level (it was raining but still amazing). It was a great experience and we can only recommend highly. Thanks Joe!

Joe's full of details about the Bella Coola area, he shares his life story and ambitions (all in a personable and philosophical manner!) and made our 2 trips with him forever memorable.We rode with him up to Purgatory Glacier, stopping on the way up and down to see clearcuts close up, to see Odegaard Falls from the road. He also took us on a fantastic trail up closer to the Falls, one which we would never have found on our own. The ride in his UTV was an adventure in itself!We also rode with him up to the magnificent alpine lakes and hiked to viewpoints overlooking the N & S Bentinck Arms--fantastic! The walk around the lake on the way down was magnificent and not to be missed!Two fabulous days and worth every single penny!
