Doug and Marion's Bike Sales & Repairs

We took one of our bicycles in for service on Wednesday. Spoke to Doug the owner about the things we needed fixed. He is so pleasant to talk to. He explained which parts that probably needed changing or adjusting. He balanced a wobbly front wheel, changed one shifting cable. He did not change the second cable because he founded it to be in good working order. He adjusted the derealers and replaced both hand grips. One was damaged when it fell off of our trailer. Now they are a perfect match. We have new brake pads so it actually stops now. Other bigger shops were telling us that it would be 2 to 3 weeks before we got the bike back.Doug's price was fair. A pleasant surprise all around. Definately a shop we will return to if needed on our other 3 bikes.Oh ya, we got the bike back one day after calling him, dropping it off and having the repairs done.

I now remember why I stopped going to Doug and Marion’s. We get quoted $75 to fix my son’s bike. We go to pick it up and are told it’s $195. We gave our phone number, so there is no excuse not to call when he found out it was more money to fix. He gave all kind of excuses for why it was more, but there is no excuse for going over your quote, just a simple phone call and let the customer decide.

Outstanding service! One of our bikes broke while on vacation, and this bike shop was the closest. The owners were extremely welcoming and nice. The second we show the broken part of the shifter mechanism- Doug knew exactly what we needed. Of course, the part was at the very top of the rack, just under the ceiling :) Got, and it worked with minimal adjustments. We were back on the trails in no time! Good “old fashioned” shop with nice selection of parts and knowledgeable owners. They’ve been in business there for 28 years, and it shows.

I took my bike in for a 50$ tune up knowing it needed break pads. I was assured by the lady that I would be given a call for any parts or anything done to my bike. After having to call to see if my bike was done which it was, I went over to pick it up. The break pads we’re 27.99$ so I was expecting to pay 85.00$. My total bill was 215.76$ which he said he had to put pads on and a new spoke. He then said my breaks weren’t working at all and needed to be redone. I said they were working when I brought it in and he agreed with me but then said his guy said they needed to be redone. I said you were suppose to call me, which his reply was my guy was here until midnight working on your bike so just pay. So I got 35$ in parts and 180$ in labor for a lousy tune up and my left break still has slack. No I won’t be back

Great personal service! I spoke with both Doug and Marion today and had a good conversation about my needs. Doug was focussed on repairing my aging bicycle rather than being quick to just replace parts (the easy answer). I appreciated the sensitivity to value for money. Don't believe the negative reviews you read because this is a good local establishment with great knowledge and experience.

What a great place to buy bikes! Any sort of bike they can get, including e-bikes. They've been great to me over the years, I've purchased half a dozen bikes from here. They also service bikes.

Was concerned with the bad reviews. No reason to be. These people are honest and helpful. I have no problem spending my hard earned money here. Thanks for all the help today in getting me a new bike and getting it set up. Will definetly be back. Doug was hilarious and Marion was very very informative.

They are genuine! Last year, we went to buy a new bike for my 6 yr old to learn on. Doug recommended we buy a used one for him to learn on and bang up"

Tried to return a tire and was told no refunds on tubes and tires. Thats fair, except I wasn't told this at the time of purchase. Had I have been I would have waited until I was sure about what I wanted in the first place. Could do w/o the attitude also. Will never return.

Went in to enquire about a problem I was having with my bike. Immediately grampa was super annoyed with me and my silly bike questions. I'll gladly drive to London for service instead of old man Doug's house of horrors. I'll be going to Outspokin in London from now on where they can actually ride a bike and have the parts to fix something made after 1999.
