just found out that this organization is following a data-illiterate, pseudoscience-based position of STILL recommendeding" masking

Dr. Irwin Fefergrad needs to be criminally and civilly charged for failing to hold predatory dentists accountable. I heard there were claims made against him by people under him at the RCDSO but nothing seems to have been done about him. Based on press reports I think he countered with claims of defamation. This may have shut things down.A law firm should start a class action against him:How could he be protecting dentists and patients simultaneously. Dr. Fefergrad has been in the job for around 25 years?! When I asked for a copy of my file to see what had been done it was denied.

I made a complaint about Dr. Seyed Farshad Firoozabadi (Registration # 108228) January 2019. The RCODS made their decision July 2021. Although it was a lengthy wait for the college to investigate and come to a conclusion, I'm pleased that the dentist was eventually punished.

Wow I can’t believe I’m not the only one waiting years for a response. I filed a complaint in August 2020. I stopped receiving delay letters in July 2022. It has been nearly 3 years. I googled the doctor. I filed a complaint against, DR Fadi Swaida and he has admitted to misconduct before, and his penalty was only one month suspension of his license and a $3000 fine and may be a few other taps on the wrist but was able to perform an extraction on me, three years later. I only went there because that was the place that offered sedation since my pain tolerance is very low but I was not sedated, and I was definitely charge for it. I felt every single tooth, all four, pulled out of my mouth with no medication and very little freezing. I screamed and cried in pain. Only to be told it’s not pain it’s pressure I had never been so terrified in my life I couldn’t believe it was happening to me. I feel like legal action against both the college and dentist is the only thing we can do at this point, especially since the college does nothing and doesn’t take us seriously.

These reviews may stop patients from complaining to the College. However, I got an inside source who says that RCSDSO complaints are bad for a dentist's career. As patients we have two options: complain to the board and/or sue. I say do both. Even if it is a long process, it is better than doing nothing about a dentist that scammed you or ruined your teeth. You can also look up dentists by their name (last name, first name) to see their records on the RCDSO website BEFORE you see a dentist or to look up a dentist that wronged you to see their record. If a lot of people complain, then the dentists will be held accountable or at least have a long record of mistreatment. DON'T DO NOTHING. DO SOMETHING. Another tip: if you sue, the lawyers will only charge you if you win the case, then they get a percent. So don't think you don't have money to sue.

Update - still have not had a ruling on my complaint from December of 2020. Submitted a complaint about a Dentist I saw almost 1.5 years ago and still have no ruling. First dentist I saw said I have 7 cavities and second said I have none. Be careful on the Dentist you choose because they do not seem to have any consistency.

I don't think the complaints are being taken seriously. Paul Greenacre has repeated offences of the same type since his Carleton University days, but still has license to accidentally" do an unnecessary and expensive procedure without patient consent

I reported Dr. Ben Fong from the Herongate dental clinic; I went to him for a simple cleaning, but he invented reasons to drill holes in my teeth destroying my ability to eat without pain. He then claimed I was not in pain and his staff yelled at me when I asked for another appointment.I filed a report with RCDSO, waited 6-9 months and was told they're still waiting for Dr. Fong to send X-rays. I sent them X-rays taken after the incident, they said they needed them directly from that dentist and I had to sign a consent form.I signed the form without a witness' signature. They then gave me a one week deadline to get a witness' signature or else my case would be closed. So, Dr.Fong can take 6-9 months but I have a week? They don’t care about patients, it seems their job is protecting the Dentists. So, now my case is closed and Dr.Ben Fong magically gathered a ton of 5 star reviews overnight, it burried all the 1 star reviews from real patients he damaged. Interesting that he got these reviews when Dental offices were shut down, due to Covid.

Well, Its been almost 5 months since I have submitted a complaint regarding a dentist here in Ottawa and yet to receive a response. From the all the reviews posted on here I must say that It is of a huge concern but not surprising. Maybe a class action lawsuit against the college is on the horizon. Ill be updating this accordingly.
