Penthouse Catering

Do not recommend booking with penthouse catering. The chef was incredibly rude and was not very accommodating. I was personally attacked when I requested a refund (even a day after the issue was resolved). See photos attached.Even if I was on the wrong side of this argument personally attacking someone and beating a dead horse is the exact opposite of what customer service is.If you're reading this, I really hope you learn how to deal with customers in a friendly matter.Judging by the amount of similar reviews who are saying the same thing, it's kind of astonishing how the chef still thinks nothing is wrong with the way he deals with customers.

I surprised my partner with chef Russell's sushi class. We both enjoyed it from start to finish. Chef Russell guided us through the entire session and we ended up making our first tasty sushi rolls. It was a very fun experience and I would gladly recommend it :)

Google reviews have one star at its minimum, if not, I would have given this experience a zero.Chef Russell is very rude; I bought this culinary experience off Groupon and as per the procedures, I had reached out to him to schedule the activity prior to a set date. date.Unfortunately, he has not been responsive and when he would reply after two days (saying he is very busy), it would not be conclusive. Aren't we all busy?l eventually gave up and requested a refund from Groupon. He was too disrespectful for me to attend one of his classes.If you cannot cater to your clients, then please review the time constraint that you put on Groupon. Or better yet, if you cannot cope with it because you are too busy, re-assess whether you should be hosting such activities in the first place! A bon entendeur, salut!

This one's a twofer" ... I've had the pleasure of both attending Chef Russell's sushi-making class initially and then subsequently sampling his catering. Sincerely ... five stars all round.The class

I took the Thai cooking class with my partner and his family about 2 months ago. It was a fantastic experience that exceeded all my expectations for a group cooking class.What impressed me most was how professional Chef Russell was. I was honestly surprised by how seriously he took the class! It never felt dumbed down, he spoke to us like competent adults and he made sure we were all working well together. I usually hate group project situations but the way the class was organized made it really fun to be part of a team actually.Really no complaints here! We learned so much, cleanliness/food safety was excellent and most importantly the food was delicious :)I highly recommend the class!

Came to write an amazing review about Russell's sushi making classes, was kind of heartbroken to see all these negative reviews about his cooking classes because they were honestly so much fun! Would definitely recommend to a friend or family. Whether you're a novice or a professional chef it's always nice to try out cooking as a group, especially with a head chef with a sort of Gordan Ramsey type of finesse.

I would never support any services from the Penthouse Catering. There are other cooking classes you can find for this price that provide a better experience. It was hard to book this class and get a hold of Chef Russell. I tried to book this class and called, and the chef was very rude, even hung up on me at one point. He was very unprofessional. This is also evident in the way he replies to feedback on reviews as well. I would not support this service ever. I decided to cancel, and it was extremely difficult to reach Groupon's customer service. I decided to message Groupon on Twitter to inform them about this negative experience. Groupon gave me full refund for it. Also, please learn the difference between their" and "there"."

I can truthfully say I have never experienced anyone as unprofessional as Russell. I purchased the Sushi making classes with the expectation to use them within a few months of purchase (prior to the expiration of the coupon). When I called I was notified that they had oversold and was told to call back. After calling back, Russell indicated that I was past the due date provided on the Groupon purchase. It is hard to understand how Penthouse can enforce expiry dates even though they had no availbility before the due date.After trying to reason with Russell, he proceeded to verbally attack me! I cannot understand how he is still in business. Best part of the call with his closing remarks before he hung up - Do you have any idea who I am? You have no idea who you are talking to.""

Save yourself the time and don’t book the sushi class Groupon deal unless you are super flexible and love to be let down.The host cancelled class twice before I decided to go for a refund. Interactions were lacking empathy and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this service. Very disappointed.
