I can't say enough wonderful things aboutThe Lighthouse! My father started attending the program about a month ago, shortly after my mom passed away. Dad loves going and has made new friends and tells me how happy he feels whenever he is there. Recently the staff had my dad up dancing which is something that he has done all his life but due to circumstances had not done in quite some time. What an accomplishment for Dad and The Lighthouse! I was so happy to see my dad dancing again. Many thanks to the caring staff. Please keep up the wonderful work you do. I would highly recommend you.

I am so thankful for the Lighthouse Retreat Centre! They have become a second family for my mom and I’m not left out either. When I first stepped into their open house in 2014, it was the warmth and hospitality of the owner that first met me and this alone was enough to make us register. Since then, we’ve come to appreciate the unique blessing that each team member is and the special care and tremendous understanding that they give whether you’re testy and stressed out or not, clients and family alike.I have especially appreciated the holistic care that’s provided – from baking, crafts, exercise and foot care – to the one-on-one support needed as a primary caregiver. We’ve received guidance and answers here that we haven’t received anywhere else. But most of all, our family has been cared for and this is priceless.The Lighthouse entered our lives when we were just looking for a way to fill some time in the day for my mom. Now it has become a vital part of her existent. It’s more than an adult day program because those exist. It’s an answer for families as a whole. If you’re in need, you will not be disappointed. Almost three years later and we’ve never been!

This program has been extremely beneficial for my quite frail and elderly grandmother. For the most part she is home bound and does not socialize much but is a very caring and talkative person. This program gives her an opportunity to meet new friends and engage her mind and gross motor skills with puzzles, games and discussing current world issues. Weather permitting, she also goes on trips in the community. She always has a well-balanced meal and snacks and enjoys being able to have a physiotherapist come in to help her exercise.I would like to thank the staff at The Lighthouse Retreat for always making her feel comfortable and at ease. Continue to do an excellent job!

The Lighthouse Retreat is a great place that provides exceptional service! They offer a Seniors Day Program from Monday to Friday from 9:00-3:00pm. This program allows Senior Citizens who need a place to be stimulated in mind, body and spirit. They provide meals, fitness, games, crafts, exercises and so much more. This is a great program for you to make new friends and have a good time. It is very affordable and transportation can be arranged. I am very impressed with the staff and the high level of professionalism from this team. They also offer a 24 Home Care for people who require assistance in their home. They service the Durham and GTA. The Lighthouse Retreat Team is dedicated and passionate about improving the quality of healthcare.
