Reception was great to chat to and very helpful. A terrific location but the hostel was pretty rundown and the cleaning left something to be desired. My top bunk shelf was covered in crumbs and the ladies wash rooms would benefit with a bunch of hooks or shelves especially given the floors weren't that clean. Did the job for my one night stay and definitely love the neighbourhood.

Really liked this hostel but this very subjective. It is built more like a budget hotel (i stayed in a mixed dorm), very close to the Crissy Field - Fishermans Wharf area of the map of SF and had great privacy curtains and facilities. Alternative in the same budget might be more amenable to the more classic hostel stay. The kitchen is small and for storage not prep, it also has late luggage storage and is in a relatively quiet neighbourhood (but pretty close to the piers and sea in general). For me the privacy of the rooms worked well.

Amazing hostel in the middle of downtown. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great free activities for guests and a cute hostel puppy! Great vibe:)

Perfect for young travellers the staff is very friendly and everything is comfortable. I got bitten by quite a few mosquitoes or something but small price to pay to be honest. Was very quiet during my stay (end of May) can imagine it’s a little more cramped if very busy but there’s plenty of shared spaces to get away.

Quiet, clean hostel in the middle of Kensington market. Small but clean rooms, each one with a small balcony as well. I found it comfortable but this has a very different vibe from other Samesun hostels I've stayed in - no bar/social area and it doesn't have daily organised tours (there are a couple of tours you can arrange but they aren't just for hostel guests)

Friendly staff 24hrs at reception and they have a luggage locker. In the outdoor patio you’ll experience interesting people watching in the great location of Kensington. The entrance, both buildings, each floor and each dorm are secured with key entry while the gendered washrooms and showers are open, there is also a gated exit and an additional emergency exit. Breakfast is from 8-10 and was sufficient with coffee, juice, bananas, oranges, cereal and bagels. They offer daily activities including a Pub Crawl every Friday. I shared a 4-bunk female dorm and everyone’s space and property was respected but bring your own padlock if you aren’t okay with keeping anything out. I loved the bunk curtains at this hostel! They were private and dark but open air. The doors and walls are thin and you can hear everything on your floor and the bunks are very creaky so bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper! Bonus: cute puppy in the reception!

First the good things:Wonderful staff, excellent location and tours to the Niagara falls are organized.Free breakfast which was good.Very good atmosphere with most other guestsThe bad:Busted air conditioner and damaged Terrasse door, small showers with flimsy curtains. The ugly: the gaps in the kitchen table haven't been cleaned but the rest of the kitchen is.

Got a private room with a friend for 2 nights. It was on the 4th floor with no elevator. The room smelled of old smoke and we had to open the balcony door to get rid of it during our entire stay. Bathrooms could’ve had at least paper towels but everything was a hand dryer which makes brushing teeth, etc inconvenience. Overall cleanliness was 4/5. Breakfast was good- cereal bagels etc. Front desk staff were very nice. It would be hard to find a better location for the price of a stay in Toronto!

Nice stay! Really good despite my initial feelings about hostels. 2nd floor male shower clean and comparable to a recreational gym. Lockers (bring your own lock) in the rooms were available in room. Rooms were in fact stuffy and a little small but I didn’t mind, only 4 out of 6 occupancy when I stayed. Tram line across street connects to subway. Location was absolutely perfect in the heart of Kensington market. Wifi works but disconnects often. Decent breakfast, make sure to grab their packaged waffles! (Their not plain but has a nice sugary coating)
