I just had a great time being styled/shopping with Love Ur Layers! I've always a bit intimidated by vintage stores. I never know where to start. Sarah helped me understand how to assess the value of a piece & how tailoring is a vintage-shopping GAME CHANGER. She found great pieces that worked so well for my budget. Plus, I got to go to new vintage stores that I never even knew existed. Super fun. Woot!

I felt great shopping with Sarah! It was nice to have someone remind me to check the fabric and reflect on how it breathes (especially gearing up for summer cycling!). My ideas about a minimal wardrobe and double-duty clothing were reinforced and cemented more firmly in my mind- I don’t like buying a lot of clothes and at first thought I wouldn’t benefit from a re-styling session, but found the experience beneficial and reinforced of my minimal values. I’m new to Oshawa and really liked how Sarah introduced me to her favorite clothing spots for 2nd hand/consignment treasures, as well as tips on how to tailor them to flatter my shape. Overall, it was a great time and I enjoyed working with Sarah. I recommend booking a re-styling session with your friends- it’s a wonderful way to thoughtfully transform your wardrobe.

Indulging into new territory for me indeed. Thanks to Sarah Peel and her “Love your Layers” philosophy/ support, I was able to open my mind and learn/ experience what it is like to take something that probably fit someone well and suited their body type, into something that felt like a “glove” to my body. I was opened to new colors, (being the typical shade/ neutral girl), and thanks to something that didn’t even pop onto my radar screen while shopping with Sarah, I felt like a new person. Sarah chose a “burnt yellow” sweater that I would have never chose for myself and thought only she could pull off. After being encouraged to give it a try, I was pleasantly surprised that my story of “yellow isn’t my color”, was just that, a story. Since I never venture into the unknown with my colors, I found an unease of trying to pair it with bottoms, until Sarah found a cute pair of slacks that brought out the professionalism in what I perceived as a casual color. She educated me on how to take this cute sweater, and pair it with many different types of pants to give me anything from a fun day at the park look, to a more professional look for business meetings. I think my favorite part of having someone to give you encouragement to try something old and make it new for you is the feedback. I always look to myself as my encourager when shopping, which means I stick to my comfort zone in cuts, colors and styles, but that keeps me bringing home a multitude of new things that simply are “all the same.” The whole experience left me feeling more confident to change it up and I felt empowered after our session together. Sarah took it one step further to help me figure out how to accessorize my new outfit, something that typically matters to me, but that I don’t always understand how to do. Her approach was “does it feel good?” and she helped me realized there wasn’t “right or wrongs” in vintage, but how you feel when you step into your layers.Thank you Sarah for supporting me and helping me change my old ways. You opened my mind to making “old” new again and created FUN along the way!

Sarah is elegant & resourceful. I love her ability to restore fashions from the past with a modern flair. I would highly recommend having her critical eye help you define your style.
