Carolyn Lykkemark Voice Studio

I was a previous student of Carolyn’s for about 10 years. Carolyn is patient, professional, and always thinking up ways to improve the experience and growth of her students. She gave me the confidence to eventually enrol in vocal competitions, something I never thought I’d do. Not to mention she has a beautiful singing voice!

Learning to sing is one of the things in my bucket list for a long time. I signed up lessons for the first time after COVID lock down with Carolyn. I’m pretty happy and satisfied with the lessons so far. I truly believe singing is a skill that everyone can learn. Carolyn is patient, thoughtful, experienced, reasonable and fun to learn from. Her classes are flexible and customized to what I like and what I need/want to improve the most. I enjoy her energy, positive vibes and generosity of sharing her knowledge. I would recommend her to anyone.

Carolyn is an incredible vocal teacher! She takes the time to listen to not only what you think you can do but also where she thinks you can go. I learned so many things and competed in so many events I never would've without her encouragement. I am a stronger performer and more technically capable because of her guidance. Lastly, as a science student, I loved that she incorporated kinesiology and human physiology into her lessons with me, because she knew that the cognitive and bodily processes that occur when singing interested me a lot. Carolyn is kind, funny, and will keep music in your life :)

I started my first music lessons with Carolyn (for voice, piano, and music theory) and I continued with her all the way to my Voice level 8, AND I became a level 8 gold medalist to boot! I couldn’t have done it without her!Not only is Carolyn excellent in terms of technical competence (as my RCM gold medal can attest)...Carolyn also has other unquantifiable skills that make her an extraordinary teacher. She’s warm and positive and has a rare kind of emotional intelligence that is hard to teach. If only there were more teachers like her around!Taking lessons with Carolyn was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life, and I can’t recommend her as a teacher highly enough!

I've had the pleasure of working with Carolyn for vocal foundation exercises, vowel training, and ways to better understand my range and ability. There was always something new that I learned and discovered. Carolyn's enthusiasm and encouragement made me feel welcome, and her professionalism as well as level of skill in working with the voice made me feel confident that I was in good hands.

Carolyn provided vocal training for me - a novice - for a year. Carolyn made me feel very comfortable singing in front of her - not easy when you are shy to begin with and know that you're not hitting all the right notes yet! Through exercises, a little background on how you produce sound and actions to take to shape that sound and some fun scales and songs, Carolyn was able to bring me to a point where I was comfortable singing songs within my range. Most importantly, I now have confidence to sing in public. This has opened up a whole new world for me! I can't thank Carolyn enough!

This review is long overdue!I have the privilege to work with Carolyn and it is continually a joy. Hands down the best vocal coach I’ve ever had. She is able to provide you with facts and she is well trained.She is very organized, personable and genuine, you can tell that she enjoys what she does.It didn’t take me a long to get comfortable with her, I knew from my 1st phone call with her that’s she was the coach for me.She also have a vibrant and clean home.You won’t be disappointed!
