Vancouver Duty Free

I had paid online for items to be picked up from the duty-free shop.I was not happy, the way the items were packed. Some people have to take long fights and multiple connections before they reach their destination.The staff on the counter was not at all compassionate or courteous.

I have visited numerous Duty Free's at various airports, the cologne/perfume and alcohol are much cheaper, especially when you get a bigger size. This was not the case, here. I had asked my wife to grab me some cologne the specific one I asked for, however it was not any cheaper at all. I checked the price online and it was actually cheaper at local stores here in Vancouver such as The Bay. I would not recommend shopping here.

Very bad experience. Ordered some ice wine online and was told order canceled at the counter because out of stock. No email or any sort of prior notification received at all. Then they surprise you with prices much higher than those on website. Staff was friendly.

Great staff by the perfumes. They were kind and helpful. The woman at the register was terrible. I know she see lots of people from many places but if it's too much trouble to do what the website says then don't work there. My order wasn't ready. I had to wait for them to walk around the store. I could have done that. Online it says order and pick it up. I wouldnt bother. They didn't even have a product that I ordered. I kept telling them I have to go. And there was no sense of urgency. If you're wondering, I placed my order the night before. Not the best experience.

This store is operating a foreign exchange scam where they ask you at check out where your card is issued; you cannot pay in CAD if you have a CC issued in the US. Instead they force you to pay in USD at their own rate of exchange with extra fees.

Some sneaky policy going on here.Apparently if you purchased over 200cad you would get a 15%off coupon for your next purchase. No one told me about this until I bought stuff of 400cad and they printed out the recipe.I was like why didn’t you just remind me that??? I guess I am going to return 200cad then buy them again with 15%off then?They refunded my items and took the coupon away, said it was a “one chance per person per day” coupon, and any refund would disqualify the coupon.I was speechless. I was traveling with a companion so I could refund everything and re-purchase 200cad stuff and use a 15%off couple to buy the rest with their boarding pass. But I felt so done with these people and didn’t want to spend any more money to support their business.

I was at YVR duty free last evening, Your staff at the shop is awesome. I’ve been to many duty free shops across the globe but never seen such an amazing staff. I was looking for some specific perfumes and was kind of a pain customer but your staff specifically your salesperson Becky (if I’m not spelling it wrong) was so helpful. She patiently answered my questions and let me take my time to select what I was looking for. She never panicked or showed any signs of being tired of my questions.Guess what, I found the same fragrance for my wife which I was looking for few years since I lost the name of it.I was so glad and special thanks to Becky!I wish there was a way to tip your staff.At least pls forward my regards and special thanks to her, and tell her She is the best among hundreds of duty free staff I’ve met in my life.

One of the worst shopping experiences I've had. Anywhere. I got two packs of their ice wine and went to the tills.1. There were three tills available, but only one was open - regardless of other available assistants being around.2. The assistant was very curt and not helpful to the customers in front of me, or myself.3. She got us to scan our own passes through the plastic screens at the till. And had us try and place our hands through the small gap in the screen to take payment. She could have placed the scanner in a more convenient place, but seemingly chose not to.4. After paying, you were promptly made to move to the side.5. You have to pay for their bags, which is understandable. But the bag wasn't strong enough to hold the ice wine bottles I bought. It started to tear. And when I went back to get another bag, they made me feel like I was scamming them for asking for another bag. They pointed out that one bag wouldn't be enough for the (two!) items I bought, and I could buy another!I can forgive the prices and selection as noted in the other comments. But the surly assistants and the useless bags (you have to pay for!) is a step too far.

The one time I want to buy a beauty product here for travel purpose is the time when their manager is absent and won’t give out the “free gift” advertised cause regular store clerks are afraid of being suspected of stealing… so…….
