Japanese BBQ | Non-AYCE | Non-LLBO Yet |Rewards App Program | Open TableCOVID protocols in placeHad dinner here on a weekday evening.The hostess was cute and sweet.Our server Nina was energetic, genuine and sweet. She was very hospitable and kind. All the other servers and managers also checked up on us frequently.The restaurant was clean and did not feel very stuffy from the BBQ fumes.They have their own washrooms (not outside shared with DaHu). They were also very clean.The food was good but I feel that the other locations were better.We got the Meat Lover Set in addition to other items.The salad I feel was better at the North York location.The bibimbap rice was average.The karage was a bit disappointing.The Spicy Tuna Volcano was not spicy at all.I think the best was really the Harami Shirt Steak.I understand that not having the liquor licence is out of their control but it also took off some marks from my review here. I know they're ready to serve as soon as they can.Overall, I'll definitely return and give them a second try.Do remember to download their app to collect points and get rewards!

I absolutely love Gyu Kaku for the quality of food and the prompt and friendly service! The entire team is very gracious and helpful when picking items from the menu and with cleanliness of our table with the All You Can Eat service! Turn around time for food orders is fast and prompt making it enjoyable for myself and the groups I've visited with. Highly recommended for Japanese BBQ with great and MANY options that are great quality!

I would give this place 0 stars if possible. Honestly, I can’t believe how it works so bad today. I was a royal client before COVID and had an excellent experience. So, this time, I chose this place to go for a lunch with my wife. I planned to use the coupon from SwingBy for two people, but I didn’t purchase it because I was afraid there’s plan changed. However, I was informed by the manager that I need to buy the coupon 24 HOURS before the lunch and he mentioned it’s SwingBy rule. There is NO such rule from SwingBy app and I have used SwingBy for multiple times, all orders were purchased just at the time I arrived other restaurants. I have no idea where the rule came out. Without any plan B, I had to have lunch with my wife at Gyu at the last and we noticed some disgusting points. 1. There was a couple nearby and used the SwingBy coupon, he showed the code but the manager didn’t mention any rule of 24 hours, just scanned; 2. The fire is too strong to have all meat into dust fast. We ordered 4 plates and I have to cooked all 4 in a short time or meat would be black; 3. All 4 tables were served by a young lady who also served as front desk, the manager just sat around and chatted and without any intense to serve customers; 4. All meat were priced at least 9 dollars but the weight is enough for a baby, not an adult; 5. Bibimbap served with a very hot bowl and if you cannot eat all rice in one minute, all things close to the bowl turn to black. Not joking, check the photo. I do have a word for the manager and the restaurant, if you do not want to run a restaurant, please close it. No need to ruin my very nice impression for Gyu.

Ordered the Value Meal which is a set dinner offering a variety of items (meat and vegetables), with salad, soup and rice. Overall the meat is marinated well, server was attentive at changing the grill plate, and restaurant is clean. This is not a large location, so it does full up quickly.

Great quality food and good service. Good vegetarian selection. A bit pricier than other grilled meat AYCE but the quality of the meat is there. Will definitely be back again!

I'm sorry, but I have to deliver this message in a critical tone.I am very disappointed with the service provided at this Gyu-Kaku location. This was my first visit, and I was extremely dissatisfied with the experience. We arrived at 9 pm, and the staff wrote down our all-you-can-eat order on a piece of paper, which was not efficient given the number of dishes we ordered.To make matters worse, it took 15 mins for the food to arrive, and almost half of the dishes did not make it to our table.When we tried to bring this to the attention of the server, they were not helpful and asked which dishes we were missing, only to bring out one side dish.Even when we ordered with a manager, only two out of three dishes came out. When I inquired about the missing dish, the server did not know what it was and asked me to order it again. Again right after, they then told us it was the last call.So we had 1 hour to eat only and half of the time, we were just waiting around and asking for the order.The entire experience was quite upsetting, as we had to keep ordering what we had already requested and still did not receive it. We were left waiting for the food to arrive, only to be cut off by the last call announcement. To top it off, some of the dishes we wanted to try were out of stock.Despite all this, we still tipped $40 for the food, but I will not be returning to this location until they figure out a more efficient way to manage customer orders. This is clearly a management issue that needs to be addressed.

Happy hour starts at 9pm, even weekends. It's a decent deal and was pretty pleased with the service and food. Quality is good and would definitely come back to try other meals.

We ordered chef’s choice, which made me doubt the chef…The meat is not good, and the server is too busy to serve. The staff are nice m, but they look like it’s their first day working here. I’ve been to other locations for many times, but only this disappointed me. I asked if I can use my codes, and mentioned I have two, but the server didn’t say only one code can be used until printed the bill.

For all you meatlovers out there, this place is heaven. Great quality and well seasoned/marinated meat. Each time the server placed the food he advised how long each dish should be grilled. They also change your grill plates every so often that you don't have to worry about charred meat sticking on your food. Place wad a bit crowded and the table I was at lacked privacy. Lady next to me had a coughing spell and her table kept looking at what I ordered. I got really thirsty near the end of my meal, I found myself constantly requesting for more water. I believe that's normal when one consumes large quantities of lightly salted meat. I loved the wide variety of meat they offer. You can also pay extra for higher tiers of meat. I would definitely go again! Hopefully next time I get to be seated at one of the booths.

Food was great but I thought the service was really exceptional. From the hostesses to the servers, they were all awesome and very attentive. Well done! As for the food, we opted for the set course for 4 people, and even though there were 5 of us, there was plenty of food! The red meats were very tasty and marinated well, although the chicken could be a bit better (maybe use dark meat instead white meat, although the chicken karaage was great). Nonetheless, will definitely come back!
