I spent two- month elective( Jan-Feb,2017) in this house. The area is very quite . The house is super clean, well-maintained . It is about 5 minutes walk from CHEO and Ottawa General. I will definitely recommend it for Medical's spending short stays in Ottawa.

I stayed here for a few weeks of electives at CHEO. It was clean and fairly well taken care of. It is about 5 minutes walking from CHEO and 7 minutes walking from the general hospital.Why only 2 stars then?While close to the hospital it is pretty far from anything else, especially without a vehicle. Groceries are a 30 minute walk, downtown is an hour. Uber is an option but it adds up if you take it regularly.It is EXPENSIVE for what it is. I've stayed at much nicer places for significantly cheaper, and I've seen adds in the same neighborhood (some even closer) for WAY cheaper (below $200/wk). For what you pay I'd expect a pretty nice place. There is hardly enough cutlery, cook wear, and dishes here. Not to mention the absence of dressers, a common area TV, or really a thing above the absolute minimum.As mentioned. There are cheaper places equally as close which look like they offer more.There is nothing wrong with this place, there are just much better options for the price. If, like for me, nothing else is available during your time in Ottawa don't worry about staying here. But with more options opening up the price will need to be lowered and quality improved if this place wants to stay competitive.

I stayed at 703 Smyth Road, which is a rental property operated by the owner of 120 Tall Oak. My stay was for 1 month and I had an excellent experience.The house, kitchen, living room and all common spaces were well maintained. The owner visited the house once per week to ensure cleanliness. The kitchen had all the necessary items (kettle, toaster oven, microwaves, etc), as well as extensive amount of cutlery. There is a very easy to operate dishwasher as well, making cleaning easy if you have a busy schedule. In the basement, all the necessary laundry equipment is present, as well as detergents available for use.It is true that both 120 Tall Oak and 703 Smyth may not be close to downtown or grocery stores, but that is the because these locations are close to the hospital and there aren't that many amenities around the hospital. Overall, I had an excellent experience at 703 smyth.
