The fundamentals executed well, the French fries we perfect, generous amount of squeaky cheese curds (authentic), ample sauce and served piping hot. Smokes does it well. The service was great, quick and genuine! Will definitely return.

Worst rascist slow staff, the counter girl was seriously rude, when asked about specials or recommendations she just waved at the board.The boneless wings is a scam you just gave 4 wings on a huge pile of fries! If I wanted fries I would have ordered fries!The staff never gave any insight that this is how your order would look like. Seriously worst money spent in Saskatoon.

Not what it used to be. Had been to Saskatoon store when first opened & it was a great experience. Next time was okay but nothing special. Then, yesterday, on Canada Day, decided to try their food truck... & was totally disappointed.Ordered one fries with gravy, and one basic poutine. The fries and gravy were so-so at best... gravy flavour was lacking & there was a lot of excess gravy on the bottom but it was only warm (may have been hot when received but a short 5 min walk to sit down and it was way cooler than should have been)--making me think their gravy warmer was lacking the water to keep it hot.The basic poutine was utterly a disappointment. After sitting down and opening, the curds (which were lacking considering the price paid) were not melted at all! But to make matters worse, the gravy was near no existant (the bottom had no none, & the middle had very little).Had it not been for starving kids"

I had a fantastic dining experience and the customer service was impeccable!This was my first visit, and immediately an employee came to my rescue as he noticed my confusion and how much I was intimidated by the menu.I believe the gentleman was named Gavin, and he helped me and my friend. He was extremely patient and obviously had a passion for what he did.He also was very funny and when I (accidently) spoke like a caveman, he matched the energy and spoke like one too to me.I will be coming back regularly because of this experience.Me come back.

Overcooked fries made it hard for a plastic fork to penetrate them most of the time. Red peppers were slimy and cold and the cheese was nowhere near melting point. There were not nearly enough toppings and I was left with a pile of overpriced crispy fry daggers. If the food was cheaper, maybe this would be justified but there was so much hype around this place and I am severely disappointed. Probably won't go again. If you are thinking of going here, get gravy on it because most of the flavour options are extremely dry and don't always have a sauce.EDIT: Thanks for letting me know I can ask the staff to redo my order but I don't think I will considering the customer service I got when ordering it the first time. I was communicated with via grunts and five or less actual words. Not only do I love eating food, but I am an adult who has owned bell peppers before as they are a common grocery store item. I know their moisture content, which is why I did not use that term to describe their SLIMY nature. I know how the food is prepared, and I am insulted that the assumption was made that my experience was due to my own uneducated misconception and not the potential bacteria that produced the slimy texture of my food.

Great poutine, but the front counter person could use a few lessons in customer service. If someone comes into your place of business to buy food, don't act like you're being put out by taking their order or that your customers are a major bother. They are the reason you're in business. Hopefully the new location will be staffed with a more amiable front counter crew.

Smokes is easily one of my favourite places to get poutine from, the food is amazing and the staff have always been super kind to me.They provide unique options on the money outside of your traditional fries, gravy, and cheese. With a ton of dishes to choose from, each featuring their own toppings, it's hard to get bored of coming back.I love getting the cheeseburger poutine or anything with bacon, they also offer options without meat if you're vegetarian or simply don't want any meat at the moment.On top of this the staff are usually super nice about accepting any modifications, if you want to add or remove something from your poutine it's no problem at all.The portions are fairly large, although I don't find them to be overpriced. If the food is too much for you then don't worry about finishing it all in one sitting, it tastes just as good reheated the next day. Not to mention that the take out containers they come in are perfect for taking places with you.Although the location isn't great for finding parking that's close, it hasn't been a large enough problem the times I've gone that it doesn't bring my opinion of the place down at all.Overall, if you like poutine and want to find something good in the city then Smokes is a great place to try.

Reheated fries 30 sec with a size way too small for the size. 17.89 with a pop. They did not put any fork in my bag. Not the best. Québec is the best!
