Easter Seals House
We spent 2 weeks at Easter Seals House, the building definitely shows its age in some aspects but I couldnt ask for a more accommodating place to stay. If you need something extra in your room ( like foamies cause the beds are firm) the staff is quick to accommodate and super freindly. And its close proximity to Childrens hospital is so helpful due to parking at the hospital being so hard to findPlease keep up the good work, you really do make a difference for the families staying there due to medical reasons.

This house is very nice. Very comfortable, clean and modern. The staff was helpful and the night guy was especially awesome. He was so kind and accommodating in our stressful time. I have a new respect for Easter Seals. I recommend this place to anyone.

Seems a little overpriced for what your getting. An average motel is only about $20 more. The room is small, but clean. The beds are extremely uncomfortable. Not having A/C in July and very pregnant is also uncomfortable. Location is nice if the hospital I was dealing with wasn't St.Pauls. would return for a longer term stay if I was dealing with BC women's or children's. But not for an overnighter. Staff has been great so far.

Great place to stay. I like that they have proper locks on the doors instead of those annoying card systems. Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because the shower head is wayyyyyyy to low. Like geez lots of people are 6 feet.

**edited to add that the manager never called us. We ended up calling 9 days after the incident happened requesting the manager to call us back!!! She finally called saying “unfortunately house keeping didn’t see anything”. It should be noted that we killed 5 of them and saw 4 more, the fact the manager did not communicate and implied we lied is crazy. She also said “the days just got away from me” as the reason why she didn’t call. Very unprofessional, would advise NOT to stay in this gross bed bug infested place.Absolutely horrid. We walked into our room after travelling for 5 hours to get there and a little critter ran across the floor I stepped on it and put it into a Kleenex. Quickly notice another and realized it was BED BUG!! Thankfully we didn’t unload anything and we walked in and walked out. You could see them crawling on the bed sheets *barf*We brought our concerns to the front desk staff who was helpful in giving us a full refund (because we brought the dead ones down to her)!! However, when she called her manager (and sent the photos) the manager told her to tell us they were “garden bugs” that they had a problem with. We looked at each other and then said, we’re not stupid and we know these are bed bugs. We requested the manager to telephone us by the end of the night. She never did.Would NOT recommended staying in this bed bug infested motel…!

Staffs attitude was deplorable, they were less than accommodating and treated you like an inconvenience, the rooms were stifling hot, beds rock solid and my experience with staff post check out terrible... shouldn’t have been surprising given the way they behaved while we stayed there.... just incredibly unwilling to help. The inexpensive rate not worth it at all. Not happy.

It's been a long time since I last spent any duration here, but I still remember it to this day. My mother and myself stayed here during my visits to the BC Children's Hospital when I was a young child and a young teenager. I do remember the rooms not being all that special in appearance or in quality of service, but for a kid going through a potentially traumatic experience at a hospital, it makes all the difference in the world. Being able to feel comfort from the surgeries, the time spent isolated, the anesthetics, the numbness, the bandages and the healing, the fear of potentially never waking up again because of an honest mistake or fatal allergic reaction to pain medication, that's what matters to a child.Especially a disabled child. One who just wants to be home and wants to be around the one person who would always be by the child's side. Easter Seals house, in the two (or maybe three? I don't remember much of my early childhood aside from the visits to the aforementioned hospital) occasions where I could get away from the scariness of the hospital (yes, even the Children's Hospital can frighten a child) and be with the one person who has ever supported me in life, was special just for the reasons I wrote. It may not be of high quality; it may not earn any accolades as a hotel (or whatever you'd classify it as), but for the people it serves it can make the difference.I also have a lot to thank Lion's Club. They, as well as other sponsors, helped tremendously, including by providing this location for children with disabilities such as my younger self. Groups like these should always get support.

I stayed at the Easter seal house for almost 2 weeks. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great and the room was clean and accommodating. I was extremely lucky to be able to stay here and I’m grateful this establishment is available for people who live out of town and have someone in the hospital.

Room was clean and comfortable..nice little kitchenette. So wonderful to have a place to stay for a medical visit that doesn't break the bank and is so close to Vancouver general hospital. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A great service to the people who need it..A very big Thank you to all involved.

I spent 3weeks at Easter Seals House, great friendly staff, very clean well kept accommodation. You could not ask for a better place to stay. Not to mention it’s a short trip to the VGH making it extremely convenient when being treated there. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
