Hedge King

The crew from Hedge King took down a large ash tree in my yard that was infected by the ash borer. Reasonably priced; The job was completed to high satisfaction with great communication throughout the entire process, from quoting all the way to wrap up. I would highly recommend their service in the Ottawa area.

I had my cedar hedge trimmed by Hedge King yesterday and could not be happier! They did an amazing job and the staff was professional and respectful. They showed up on time and did an excellent job of clean up before they left. They also checked with me a couple of times to make sure the work was progressing to my expectation. Will only use Hedge King for hedge trimming in future.

I have been dealing with Hedge King for a few years now. Started with removing our gnarly 30yr old front hedges and replacing them with a new hedge. Our neighbours also used them and they too were very pleased. This Spring, we then called on them to trim and remove some damaged branches from our 30+ year old maple in our back yard. Absolutely fantastic crew and workmanship. Great work, on time, professional and courteous and all within estimated budget. They are my go to" for anything related to our trees/hedges. Absolutely would recommend Tom and his team to anyone - five stars for sure."

I would recommend this company to anyone. Troy and his partner (Jack?) showed up at my house to trim an unruly hedge. Troy was very respectable and asked me if I had any special requests before they started. We chatted and they got to work! My hedge has never looked this good. It had been a few years so the hedge was a monster and they tamed the monster. Also the clean up was amazing. They left our yard better than it was when they arrived!I have a few issues with my hedge and Troy spent some additional time providing suggestions and options. I will definitely be calling them back to fix my hedge this year and they will be back to trim it again next year!

Recently had Hedge King come in to do an evaluation of my cedar hedge which received a lot of heavy snow damage. The decision was to remove the existing hedge, grind down the stumps and install a new hedge. From start to finish, everyone who came on my property were friendly, professional and very pleasant to deal with. The trees were removed with little debris left and the gentlemen were quick to respond to my concern of protecting my AC unit as it's located near the gate and my fear was it being damaged by the old trees being taken out. Both my back yard and the driveway, where the chipper was positioned, were cleaned up upon completion. The gentleman who did the stump grinding was so kind. He unfortunately hit a drain pipe that was installed under the ground to divert water to the back edge of the property. The machine snagged it and ripped it in two. He notified me immediately and promised to be back in the evening with the new piece. He was true to his word and ensured that it was repaired to my satisfaction. The men showed up the next day to install the new cedars and it was a quick and efficient installation. I was totally impressed by this company and highly recommend them for any cedar work.

HedgeKing has been trimming both of our 80ft hedges (top and both sides) for the past 5 years. Every year I'm reminded of why I keep going back to them: they are professional, careful around gardens, listen to any concerns we have before starting the service, they are clean (and clean up!), always on time, friendly...Oh, and our hedges look phenomenal.

We had about 300 feet of very overgrown cedar hedges due to previous owner neglect, which gave no choice but to remove and replant new. After evaluating a number of firms we either found that a) They did not service our area (Russell, Ont.) b) Where not qualified/confident to perform the work c) Just way too expensive. After some discussion with Tom from Hedge King he agreed to perform the work even if outside their normal service area. His team came and conquered our hedge beast over two days in an efficient/professional manner.Part 1: Removal of existing HedgeBasically a lot of hard work but care taken to ensure no property damage. Used chipper to make mulch. Grind existing roots.Part 2: Replant new HedgeVery high quality hedges planted with very even spacing in a nice straight line. This was followed by spreading mulch to help protect roots from summer heat. This extra step turned out to be a life saver given out recent heat wave in Ottawa with plus 30 degree temperatures.Part 3: Test of timeIt's been about 2 weeks now. Hedges are still green given the heat which again is indication of quality trees planting care.Hedge King overall work is awesome and would recommend to anyone.
