James Bay Community School

My daughter and I loved James Bay Community School. Growing up I wanted to attend. She was a proud student from kindergarten to grade 2 (1993-1995). I volunteered for the lunch program. We held her birthday parties in the community center next door.

Love this community centre - friendly, small but hosts great events very professionally.

Staff are wonderful. My little guy lives the coastal kindergarten program. School is small which gives it the community feel.Unfortunately it lacks a dedicated music program.

My daughter was horribly bullied at this school. The way it was dealt with was completely inadequate and basically a total joke. Even to the point that the school administration decided not to have a meeting with the parents of the bully to find an appropriate resolution instead stating the parents will deal with it knowing full well the parents were basically absent parents and it was a troubled household. I asked for the bully to receive some counselling which was refused, I asked for the bully to change to the other class of the same grade, also refused. Instead they thought the best lesson to teach was to put the bully’s desk right beside my child’s??? I am and EA, I know how these things should be dealt with, and this wasn’t it. This wasn’t the “norm” type of bullying this was quite serious and the school just seemed to think it would work itself out. Needless to say I removed my daughter from this school.
