Sommer Transportation Service

Sommer transportation driver screaming and yelling at me ,when my son’s schedule changed .She was threatening to harm my child.she was so sarcastic about my son’s condition.I still don’t know why school board is using their services.

Driver shows up 25 minutes late and blames my son, several times a week. How do we teach them to respect time, if the driver doesn’t take accountability and the office backs him up. I wish we had a choice. It’s silly writing a review when you don’t have another option. Maybe OSTA will see these reviews and not take the cheapest bid next time.

I'd like to start this review by saying Just because you know how to operate a car doesn't mean you know how to drive." Because that seems to be the case with the vast majority of these drivers. Multiple time

2nd year having to use this company. My child has disabilities and it can be challenging to get her going on time. We've tried explaining the circumstances to the company and all we get is rudeness, lack of understanding, and nothing but resistance. The driver will show up early and demand that our daughter be outside and ready dispite being early. When the company calls from their office, we get a ton of negative attitude and rudeness. I hope they lose their contract and the school board goes with a different company more deserving. This is a terrible company with terrible service.

This service is a bit of a nightmare. The drivers are often late, they send new drivers all the time without notifying you, the radio is playing so loud that the children can't communicate with one another or the driver, they show up without booster seats for the little ones and so forth. The management does not seem to care, no one is held accountable. Not very comforting putting your child in theses vans.

This is a very unreliable service. They give excuses rather then owning the poor service. I have had anothing but issues with this company. The driver is always late in the morning. They also like to randomly change drivers without notifying the parents. In my opinion that's not safe for any child. How are we supposed to know if our children are safe or not. I do not recommend this company to anyone. They managers don't care if you complain nothing gets done and they completely dismiss the issues

Nice people but lacks professionalism and never where they need to be until it's too late! My kids attendance is effected by their constant lateness. I'm not impressed, not to mention they have kept drivers after hitting a child and drove away without stopping.

I’d give no stars if it was an option!!!Absolutely horrific service! Always late or doesn’t show up. Heavy scent of cologne in van. Drives like a maniac. STS has called me three times saying “New driver Monday in redvan” and it never happens! Picked kids up from school late. Son found a pack of cigarettes in van. Driver shows up anywhere between 7:10am and 7:50 never know what time he’s going to be there! Driver doesn’t speak English. My son has special needs and a heart condition. How would the driver understand him incase of an emergency!?!?This has been a battle now for almost 4 months now!Horrible Horrible service!!!!Did I say how horrible it is?UPDATE: My son came home from school and told me that the seatbelt was “broken” and it has been for awhile. He said the driver screamed at him because when the driver slammed on his breaks my son went flying. He didn’t want to tell me because he was afraid to get in trouble. Without saying anything to the school or van company I went to the school when the school day was done to look for myself. He was being placed in the centre back and the seat belt was one that you manually adjust the size to fit accordingly. He’s never been in one of these belts or seen them. No one bothered to ensure the belt was done up correctly and he’s been driving like this everyday home from school! I notified the supervisor and all he could say to me was “you should be saying thank you to us for providing this service to you!!”ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?The driver also called my son an idiot and annoying. The driver even admitted it!Terrible service. I hope for the sake of the children this company looses their contract!

This company can't get their act together. First day of school they showed up 20 minutes late. Then the driver didn't know where to pick another child up from so my son had to call me while I gave them street by street directions. This made him 20 minutes late for class. The driver was then 20 minutes late for after school pickup.Second day of school the driver gets my son on time but still doesn't know how to navigate to the other student's home. My son is almost late again as a result of this driver. This time he's 35 minutes late for after school pick-up and that was after I placed 2 calls to the van line asking where the hell the driver was!I'm not sure why the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority switched van lines to this company, but they made a poor choice.

TBH I didn't even want to give a star definitely not worth it this school year they decided to switch from Direct Transportation which was a great company and showed up early but this company here is just brutal and should not be in business they hire people and drivers that can't speak a word of English or understand a word of English the drivers are never on time my son starts school at 8:45 it now is 9:06 and he's still and when I send a message to the driver I don't get a reply back at all, the management's excuse all the time as a while there's a shortage of drivers so because of a shortage of drivers my child loses his education come on STS smarten up man these are our kids eh
