Bow River Fly Fishing Adventures

I've been fishing with Doug and his crew for the last 3 years now and our floats are never anything short of amazing. Doug works hard to get you in the right spots on the river, we landed over 40 fish on this year’s float with the majority of those fish being between 17-20”. We even brought in a few 22”ers. Thanks again Doug for another great float!

Fantastic experience fishing with Curtis! Booked an October float trip while out in Calgary on business. Setting up the trip was easy with quick and clear communication from Doug. The fishing was excellent. Curtis spent just the right amount of time going through casting, presentation, fighting the fish and fish biology for my colleague who had not done much fly fishing. Once one the river, he was super proactive about getting us set up for the right drifts, keeping our rigs in different lanes, and was spot on about where the fish would be. We hooked a lot, landed some VERY nice rainbows and browns and lost a couple big rainbows after spectacular jumps … the fish win sometimes. Highly recommend anyone looking to fish the Bow contact Doug.

Doug and his team are amazing! Catching fish while enjoying the gorgeous mountains was exactly what we were looking for. His knowledge of the river and environment was spectacular. We had the best time and will absolutely be back!

We had two great days of fishing with Doug on the Bow in late July. We went out extra early on day 1 and threw dry flies and managed to raise (and hook) a number of fish. We switched up to nymphs and hooked into another 25 or so.Day two was all nymphing and the fishing was great again. Hooked up with over 30 fish with the largest landed being around 21 inches.Doug worked his tail off and put us on the fish. I can't recommend highly enough!

Best fly-fishing experiences I’ve ever had. I went from having never fly-fished to successfully pulling in multiple 24+” rainbows and browns to n a matter of hours. I’ve been three years now and it just keeps getting better.

Another awesome today with Curtis Lawrence on the lower Bow. Been fishing the Bow with Curtis for over 10 years and couldn’t be happier with the experience. My wife and I booked Doug to teach us to fly fish while visiting Banff & Lake Louise. These two total newbies wanted to learn everything and Doug did not disappoint, teaching us about the entomology, the river, the gear, and then casting technique on how to both nymph from the drift boat and dry fly fish. Doug is a wealth of knowledge, truly an expert outdoorsman from his decades of experience and an absolute great guy all around, would highly recommend giving him a ring for your Banff adventure. Thanks Doug, we are fly fishermen for life!

Doug and his team have been taking me fishing for the past 15 years and it is always amazing. Their experience guiding the Bow River is second to none and the whole team are such great people. Always fun and I still cannot believe how many fish I have caught!
