We Walked in and we were greeted with the most amazing guy at the front, he explained everything with the restaurant and sat us down.Food was definitely 5/5 - we loved everything that we ordered and the drinks were also amazing! No complaints there. It did take a while for a server to take our order sheet and we were just sitting there looking around to see who would take it.We also didn't get soy sauce, wasabi and ginger etc until we asked which is usually not a big deal but all our food just piled in and we had to flag someone down which does come off rude on our end and thats not our intention. One feed back i would give is to not pile all the food all the once especially with the small table its very crammed and not enjoyable we felt rushed eating.Same gentleman at the front was going around making sure everyone was okay and enjoying which was appreciated and when we left he gave us a pocky!!

Dec 27,2022.Hou ji chaLots of bitters with a slight hint of sweetness, overall a good drink that balances sweet/ tasty flavors. This is just teaIce tea with a little fizz. Kinda like twisted tea with herbs and honeyCaviar lover ( blue fin sushi with cavier and gold flakes, uni)The bluefin is really soft like butter, the saltiness of thr cavieer and the Sweet uni mixes so well. The rice is so sweet and slightly sweetSunset oysterLittle hint of sweetness, the oyster is so clean and almost no seafood smell/taste. The sauces definitely complemented it and the spicy radish is so goodTonkatsu ramenThe broth is rich and flavourful, not too salty or too dense. The noodles were soft and not squishyMango rollSoft puree of mango on top with crunchy shrimp. Thr mango is subtle  ut not over poweringBluefin rollBluefin was really soft like butter, avocado was sweet and creamy, .Grilled abaloneAbalone is really clean and soft with a strong umami flavour. The creamy sauce is not too salty and the tobiko is really flavorful.Overall, a good place for a izakaya that isnt scared to experiment with their seafood premiums. Definately a go to place in Calgary for sushi and seafood.March 24, 2023 updatwFood came really fast, great atmosphere and good food.Truffle special prawn rollStrong truffle taste with soft rice and a sweet ABC like sauce. The prawn was okay and it was an average roll.Umami/opus oysterThe umami with the red sauce was really good. Thr red sauce was a bit of a vinegar spicy kick. Better than the lemon sauce with vinegar. The opus is clean and not as intense.Lobster bisque udonCreamy like clam chowder, the sauce is nice with a little sauce. Udon noodles felt a little tacky, but more of a Chinese styleAbalone loverCreamy and salty. The cavier adds with its poppy bubbles and chewy abalone. Really good and still amazes meBunbunbunReally soft bun with lettuce sauce, and choice of protein (chicken, shrimp, teriyaki chicken), it was okay for the price.

Having dined here a few times now, we've found our experience to be a little different each time, with our first visit being the best. I would give them a 3.5 star average rating. The decor is very unique, and enhances the dining experience. Their menu offers a variety of different choices, including a lunch menu, raw oysters, stone grill, and daily specials. The sushi was not bad, but the rolls are slightly on the smaller side. The fish on the nigiri was, unfortunately, quite thin and small. The stone grill was definitely the worst, with portion sizes being tiny compared to the price you pay.We liked that all the sizzling plates are brought to the table and combined in front of you. Presentation of the food is also pretty nice.Service is an area that can definitely be worked on. On more than one occasion, our server wasn't able to explain what was in a dish, or help us choose an alternative to something they didn't have. We've also had used utensils come flying at us while our table was being cleared. Servers are also not very attentive, and we always have to ask for more tea and our bill.

We went there to celebrate a birthday and had a pleasant experience. Staff were friendly and liked the interior. And food was delicious. We tried a few shareable items: sweet and sour prawn, tempura prawn, spicy salmon roll, grilled mackerel, spicy red ramen, prawn sizzlers. Loved the taste of all and fish was specially delicious and fresh. Would love to go back when planning for Japanese food again.

Came here with friends and it was a total blast! The server brings like six different menus because they have daily specials, seasonal specials, hot dishes, sizzling dishes, salads, sushi, etc. Definitely more categories than one can try in a single visit. Staff are super friendly!

Love the ambiance and service! Amazed by the food variety (spend too much time debating what to get, as everything looked yummy). This place is Prego friendly! I was more than satisfied with cooked food options while hubby got his sushi fix. We ordered green curry mussels (yummy!) With avocado makis as rice, grilled squid (love the sauce), grilled mackerel, a selection of sushi and uni with two drinks ( yuzu mocktail is amazing). Will be back for sure!

Sashimi came looking like it was massacred…..won’t be eating this unfortunately. Steak was way over done.Update: Manager or Owner was prompt to remedy situation. I look forward to visiting the restaurant and trying it again, the quality of product typically received seems much higher than what I did, mistakes happen sometimes and I appreciated the accountability, many establishments blame the customer or make excuses and that did not occur here :)

The food is great, Sashimi is fresh, wagyu beef stone is amazing. Great service. Atmosphere is welcoming and spacious. We're from Edmonton and would definitely comeback just for this restaurant. Overall, worth every penny.

Amazing ambiance with great service. Sushi was amazingly fresh and very good. From the sashimi to the sirloin steak, everything was flavorful and left you wanting more. The fish cheek was lightly fried with plenty of meat. You can also order a flying fish sashimi that it was presented beautifully. After finishing the sashimi, they will ask if you would like the remainder of the fish fried. We opted to do this and everything down to the bone was edible and crunchy, like fish chips. I love how none of the fish was wasted and the entire fish was edible.Overall, highly recommend this place if you are looking for fresh fish and quite authentic flavors. Be prepared to leave smelling a bit smokey though due to the open kitchen. But it's great that you can watch them prepare some of the food.
