Origin Native Plants

Best source for Ontario Native plants! This will be my third season ordering with the team. Alex and Zach have always been very responsive. Last season my shipped order was delayed and they stayed in touch to make sure everything arrived okay. All of their plants have flourished in my gardens. I was amazed to see how large the plants grew in the summer when they were just planted in the fall. So happy they offer shipping now so I can order multiple times throughout the year! I really cannot say enough great things about Origin Native plants and would recommend to anyone with a garden.

Zack has been a great resource to us. Very attentive and willing to take the time to explain the plants, reasons for planting and when to plant. His vast knowledge of native plants helped us to create many native areas on our property. Excited to continue working with you!

I have ordered multiple times from Origin Native Plants and will continue to do so. The selection of native plants (from seed!) is fantastic and ever expanding, with many harder to find woodland plants available. The customer service is excellent, with orders well organised, and collection easy. Definitely worth checking out the online inventory if you haven’t already—I recommend planning and ordering early but checking back or getting in touch through the season as stock is updated. Their selection, and plants are great, prices are good. Their staff is easy to deal with, helpful, and friendly. I'm very happy with the plants I got from them, they're doing really well.I've recommended ONP many times, and will continue to do so.

A native plant treasure! Origins has a wonderful bounty of Ontario native plants, healthy seedlings that were being tended on this day by one of the most knowledgeable people I've met in my outings. [My local, Toronto, nurseries tended to vegetables, good plants if you're looking, and/or with a disappointingly spotty offering of native forest and meadow plants.] The drive adds to a real outing: once you hit Guelph, you come to a road that reminds you a pastoral beauty still exists out there. It's a little hard to find and the signs are meek but gratitude awaits when you arrive.

Origin is a super resource for building my native shade garden, and the owners are great to deal with. Their service is excellent, and the plants are healthy and beautiful, with a great selection, helpful descriptions for each one, and an easy system for ordering. And their prices are the best.

My go-to spot for native plants. Since shopping at ONP, I have seen new species of butterflies and bees in my garden for the first time. The combined wealth of knowledge and experience from the owners makes this an obvious choice for all of my gardening needs. Highly recommend!

This is a fantastic nursery. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and deeply believe in their work of seeding Guelph with native plants. Worth the drive out to see the operation in person! Highly recommend.

This nursey offers such an incredible selection of native plants suited to a wide range of vegetation communities. Whether it be a restoration project, naturalizing ornamental landscapes or creating pollinator gardens. The owners have a wealth of practical experience in ecological restoration and a deep knowledge of plants. Super friendly and always helpful. You can even buy mixed flats of plants suited to you specific site!

Very friendly staff and highly knowledgeable. They also offer ecosystem restoration services including design and installation. The selection of species is incredible with over 200 Native species to choose from. They offer many species that are rare and not offered at any other Native Plant nursery in Ontario like Dwarf Lake Iris (Iris lacustris), Lake Side Daisy (tetraneuris herbacea) and Pennsylvania Sedge (Carex pensylvanica) and many more! They also seem to be doing things in a carbon neutral way as they have no running water at the nursery and are not connected to the power grid. All their water is collected from rain and they have a solar battery bank that powers their watering system. This is very cool to see in person and sets them apart from other traditional nurserys.Keep it up Origin! We love you!
