Buck Lake Provincial Recreation Area
Isolated, no services. Camping spots not large or very private but clean, tidy and 'secluded'. Not for all but great for some.

A small, open campground with a few sheltered spots. Kind of off the beaten path, this area has a boat launch and will appeal most to those who can utilize it.

Nice spot, not too many people. The lake is not the best for swimming but good fishing.

Good fishing, but loads of trucks and boats on the weekend. Not quiet but a great place to fish.

This place is a dump ! What a waste of totally usable space. This campground should be at least 50 to 80 spots but instead there are maybe 20ish. It's so hard to tell because there aren't any definable camping sites. Any markings leading to the campground " are non existent. Lake is all full of algae and no beach. Save your time and money and go elsewhere fast. Gull

It's a smaller provincial recreation area, excellent access to Buck Lake. RV and camping at $21 a day, but there's no services. Outhouses only, and you can't drink the water. The area is very beautiful, numerous birds, and small animals. If your seeking a quiet place to camp this is the place.

I really wavered back and forth with my rating. I think 3.8 would be more accurate one. The negatives are the sites are on the small side. The campground is not patrolled so it can get noisy at night. Not great water access for a boat. No power, water or playground. It's small and not many places to walk.Ok the positives are its clean, lots of secured garbage containers but they fill quickly (negative), open grass areas, flat campsites makes leveling trailer easy, nice fire pits. The best for last, a beautiful hidden gem, a lazy waterway that weaves through a grassy area. Its perfect for kayaking!

Campsites are much closer together then the map shows. Site 9 and 11 are basically attached, glad it's occupied by such a nice family. The hand launch for canoes and kayaks is not paved or maintained and is basically a mossy mud pit, impassable without serious rubber boots. There is no real water access so if you are planning to spend time on/in the water, this is probably not the campsite for you.

You might catch a walleye from the shore! There are size limits for minimum and maximum size as well. This year Pike limit is zero, and Walleye one between 45-50 cm only.

Poor at best..this park has a lot of potential if the parks would spend some money on it. I have been going to Buck Lake fishing for 20 years if not more and this park has had poor changes...ppl want to camp there and would spend more money to stay if so up grades would be made...there is plenty of room to add more spaces to accumulate more revenue that would pay for upgrades..Would like to see more done there
