Herschel Retreat House

The Herschel Retreat is such a perfect place to get away with friends or family. With so many cozy spaces on the property, there’s always a great setting for relaxing, playing board games, enjoying a fire, giving kids their own space, warming up in the hot tub or enjoying the outdoors. It would work well for all sorts of gatherings and we can’t wait to book again. Jimee puts in so much effort to make it feel like you’re her only guests of the year. The place is always so clean and well stocked so we can just enjoy.

This was not our first time visiting and I hope it won't be our last. A wonderful facility to gather a bunch of people. We have family province wide so find this a neutral meeting spot. The square footage of the house, the 4 bathrooms, outdoor facilities...all amenities we look for to accomodate gathering people who want to get together but appreciate the option of their own space. (most of us live alone). Thanks to Jimmee for her hospitality. We spent a week in rural Saskatchewan and had PERFECT weather - lots of sun, no wind and no bugs!!! Thanks to the Herschel community for always making us feel welcome.

This large but still cozy home reminded me of a mountain retreat. We had an amazing catered meal by a local (Rosetown) chef, tons of wood to burn in the fireplace, a relaxing evening in the hottub, and an excellent hostess in Jimmèe. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone wanting to get away and recharge.

Just what these 11 ladies needed. Enjoyed every second we were there. Beautiful restoration. I would highly recommend this retreat if you are looking for some laid back, quiet reflection.

Our stay was one of the best experiences, we shared as a family. The house had plenty of space for everyone. Our stay exceeded my expectations. There are movies, games for inside and for outdoor, we played a lot of bocce ball, a fire pit, and tons of birds to watch. The yard is gorgeous, beautiful landscaping and large areas of lawns to play games. Large bbq, large deck and hot tub to relax in at the end of the day. Thank you to the Staff at the Herschel Retreat for a super fun and relaxing time with family.

Herschel Retreat is an ideal place for a gateway. It has everything you need. Not only is it quiet and beautiful, but the house has so much for character. It’s good for couples, friends as well as family. It has rooms on the main floor, basement and an open space that you can share. Don’t worry if you forgot to bring something, the house is equipped with all the amenities. All the cooking appliances. In addition to that you would be able to enjoy all the board games, books and music that is available. Lastly, the 2 features that makes the stay spectacular is the fire pit out in the open and the hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to revisit whenever we can with more people.

Hershel retreat house was the perfect place to stay for a girls weekend. The place was so clean and had everything we needed and more. Jimmee was so helpful through the booking process and the duration of our stay! It’s the perfect get away!!

Comfortable, clean and home away from home in a restored house in a quaint little hamlet in the Bear Hills. The sunny enclosed veranda was great for our family gathering, having dinner and sitting with your morning coffee. Each floor had a washroom, which made sleeping arrangements on each floor very comfortable and convenient. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space too.

Herschel Retreat Center is a great place to go relax and unwind. Beautiful views and wonderful rustic environment. The house itself is very inviting and cozy. The fireplace is a perfect place to read a book in front of. The hot tub melts your stress away. All the amenities of home. Our family of 5 all enjoy it.

The Herschel Retreat House was a perfect getaway spot for the extended family (7 adults, 3 kids) with plenty of space to spare. Not too far from home, which meant less time in the car and more time relaxing. All the comforts of being at home, as well as some extra perks: a wood burning fireplace and hot tub! Highly recommend this great little gem!
