The Varsity - Kitchen Bar Burgers
My family and I visited Varsity recently, since we loved Red Robin and were hoping to chase a bit of nostalgia. Varsity delivered. It has a great family atmosphere, while somehow not being too loud. The burger selection was great, and we were able to find similar burgers to the ones we used to enjoy. The shakes were delicious as were the bottomless fries.My one complaint, while our server was kind and knowledgeable, it would have been nice to get a bit more attention, as we didn’t get any refills while we waited for our meal. This was minor, and the only reason I haven’t given full stars.Overall, we enjoyed our visit and will be going in again.

The Varsity - Kitchen Bar Burgers
The food was good. Service was very good. Place was clean. The price was excellent for the quality of ingredients. Really enjoyed the endless fries just like Red Robbins used to offer with the seasoning salt. Lots of parking. Overall it was a very nice experience. The reason it’s not 5 star, is only because the burgers were good (didn’t fall into the great category). I would recommend going here for a reasonably priced meal with the family. I will return.

Brings back old memories when this was a Red Robyn’s restaurant. The menu has a lot of variety and the burgers were overall, very good. Nice to have the large cut bottomless fries option, but the burgers were quite filling, so no one was able to go for a second round of fries. While the food did come quick, overall staff responsiveness was a bit slow. Nothing to really complain about as when they did get to us, they were very helpful and got the order correct, even with our numerous adjustments to the order. Overall, a great replacement for Red Robyn’s and will definitely be coming back.

Located in a former Red Robin location , the Varsity menu has a familiar Red Robins vibe - which for us Albertans is good thing . Burgers are extremely tasty, reasonably priced and served with bottomless fries . Menu has a wide range of burgers , Mac & Cheese , Onion Ring tower , milkshakes - good for family dining .Worth a visit if you are in the area- probably a 3.5 / 10.Food was good but general service was slow & inattentive , upon being seated it took almost 10 minutes for server to attend table for drinks . After finishing our meal , it was quite a wait to receive the bill and another prolonged wait to pay.Good food but service level doesn’t match the tasty food .

This is a family friendly restaurant with really good food and a warm friendly atmosphere.Yes, this is the old Red Robin location.Yes, the menu is very similar to Red Robin.Yes, they have bottomless steak cut fries.Varsity is more like a modern, re-imagined Red Robin. They have friendly, engaging staff that make you feel welcomed. The food is tasty and the portions are very generous.Yes, I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend you give them a try!

We have been there twice in the last month and love this place more each time. The ambience is great, not too loud or dark, comfortable enough to bring kids, or formal enough for casual dinner date with friends. Both times we were greeted by a super friendly hostess and seated nearly immediately. Service was perfect both times. Both Shelby and Megan were fast, professional, knowledgeable and and top of every point of service. The food was amazing both times! Fresh crisp salads, hot delicious steak fries, juicy perfectly seasoned burgers, just perfect. Refills for drinks and fries were offered and delivered before we were even done with the first serving. Whatever growing pains they may have had, they have certainly grown into their own now! I’m excited to have a locally owned and operated family restaurant in the neighbourhood!

Replacement for Red ronnins5thay used to be at the same location. Menu seemed similar and atmosphere was warm welcoming and comfortable. Service was excellent. My waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I ordered a burger with the fries and the food tastes great. The fries were not as good as I expected. The other burger unfortunately was not as good. The bun was hard at the edges and weren't as tasty. The fries again weren't as good as I expected.

Fajitas were exactly like Red Robin's. 10/10.Burger was dry. I'm not sure it it was a bit overcooked or maybe they just need to use different meat in their burger. Crispy onions were not very crispy. 6/10The tomatoes on the bruschetta were cooked. I think it would have been better if they made it traditional-style with raw tomatoes. 6/10

My friends and I met here to hangout and have dinner.The restaurant was busy and almost all the tables were occupied but we managed to get a table within 5 minutes.We ordered a spinach dip to start. It was delicious!We all ordered the burgers as this is what this restaurant is known for.We ordered the Big Kahuna Chicken, Bacon and Cheddar, The Varsity Chicken and Turkey Burger.These burgers came with fries but you can sub out with onion rings for an extra $2 or salad.The burgers was fresh and juicy and scrumptious!I ordered onion rings on the side and it was one of the best onion rings I have ever tasted. It was crisp and perfectly done!! My only complaint is that I wish they would have given more as it I felt it wasn't alot.Our server, was quick and helpful and very friendly.The prices were fair and affordable.I would definitely go back to sample the other offerings.

The Varsity - Kitchen Bar Burgers
The tremendous atmosphere reminded me of the red robin days. Unfortunately, my food was not good at all, the egg had a rubber texture and it seemed like the egg was cooked 20 minutes before it came out. The burger didn’t include everything that was stated on the menu and was missing important ingredients. The waitress with the purple hair took a solid hour to get us our main food and failed to check in with us at all. Once we questioned where our food was she shortly told us that since we got an appetizer the main entrees were not ready even though the appetizer was served 45 minutes prior. When the food came 2 people at my table including me didn’t get what was ordered/things that were included in the order and because of that we could not enjoy the food as it wasn’t what we ordered. The waitress also did not bring a pen and paper to a table with 4 of us so I’m sadly not surprised she messed up the order as it’s a lot to remember. I ordered a Coke and got a Diet Coke and my Italian soda took almost 20 minutes to arrive! Other than that the atmosphere was great once again.
