JR Guitar Repair

I came to see to Jim back in the summer while I was treeplanting in Lumby and really needed some new strings and a bit of a set up done on my acoustic and electric. It was pretty time sensitive since I'm locked into a shift basis and no other guitar store in the area would help me out without leaving my guitars with them for a week which would mean a week of no playing guitar lol. Thankfully Jim helped me out on short notice since he had the time and he and his wife were very personable and I'll definitely be contacting him again if I'm in the area. The 5 stars out of 5 stars is definitely deserved!

I brought my guitar in to get restrung and had an amazing experience. Jim is a fantastic person and insanely passionate about music. I hope that I have an excuse to visit again and support his company. Would recommend to anyone.

I have been looking for many years to have someone restore my dads 1963 Gibson ES335 and never found anyone that I thought could do it, Contacted Gibson directly and they wont fix a guitar from Canada, border issues I guess. My dad was a WW2 veteran serving on the front lines as a medic and saw many horrible things and when he come home he must have found some peace in music and formed a little country band. He traded a car for the 1963 ES335 to give to my big brother so he could be in his little garage band. I never heard or seen my Dad or Brother play this guitar as I was too young to remember. For some reason my dad took the original neck off of it and built a new one, He never finished it for some reason and he passed away when I was 15yrs old so it has not been played in over 50yrs. My constant search to find someone that my mind and gut told me could do it led me to  JR GUITAR REPAIR in Kelowna B.C. I messaged Jim Rhindress and sent pics of the guitar and he messaged me back instantly and said he thought he could get it playing again, He would like to see it before committing to the work. I took it to Jim and he said he could definitely get it playing and he took the time to explain what needed to be done and I thought I needed to put a new neck on and he said no the one my dad made was good and it would be nice to keep a part of him with this guitar. It was a very emotional moment for me for him to suggest that as I never even thought about it. He also took the time and effort to find missing parts that would have been original to this guitar and that made me feel like he really cares about what he does and how the customer feels. If you want a guitar repaired I would absolutely not hesitate to give him a call, you WILL NOT FIND a better person than him to do it. I started out as a customer but now I feel a solid bond with him over this very personal journey to hear my Dads guitar play again THANK YOU JIM   here are the before and after pictures just beautiful

Some of the best customer service I've received. Dropped my guitar off for some service work and went to the gym. Jim had the guitar fixed up before I could even finish my workout. Picked it up an hour later and he refused to take payment. My guitar is now sounding great. Highly recommend!

Jim had always come highly regarded from anyone I knew in town who had ever had him work on their guitars. I've been to see him a couple times now and not only is he easy to talk to, he's helpful, knows his stuff, and will make your guitar sing. 5 stars doesn't seem like enough!

He did an incredible Job on my les paul! Briught it in with some chipped frets, and inlays which had popped out. He fixed everything I needed and more, plays way better then it ever had! 10/10 will be coming back with my other guitars!

The reviews do not lie! I was referred to Jim by a friend and all I can say is I am glad I found him. Jim is a great guy to talk with and a magician to boot. I dropped off a 50 year old ish lawsuit era Les Paul copy that was in desperate need of some fret work. They were so bad, I was thinking an expensive total refret was the only option. Jim was able to work some magic on the existing frets and ended up saving me a ton of money. After the fret work and setup the playability of this guitar is unbelievable.Thank you Jim!

Unbelievable craftsman and human being! If you love your guitar as much as I do and feel nervous about trusting anyone else to bring her back to her full potential... Jim's your man. He hand carved me a new bridge (out of bone no less), filed and reshaped my frets and made her sound better than new! He is a genuine master. And on top of all that, his pricing is very affordable and more than fair. I can't say enough good things about this man except there's no one I'll ever bring my Sally" to ever again!"
