About 1/3 of the sites are nice - treed, close to the water. But the rest are in a wide open field also used as a storage area. Very noisy traffic from the adjacent highway. Our sewer connection was broken and you could only slide your sewer hose down inside it to use. You can walk to Devonshire beach though which is nice.

Arlene and Grant take great pride in their facility and it shows in all they do. They seem to never stop working at making it a top notch resort. All levels of camping facilities, as well as a riverfront cabin and a loft for those without camper, trailer or motorhome. We always book for the next year before we leave to be assured of our favorite spot. Thank you Arlene and Grant for your warm hospitality!

I spent a lot of time at this campground back in 2007 and absolutely loved it we were from Ontario and were out in slave lake for work. I remember one time when I slid off the driveway at the campground and got stuck the snow , the owner came out in a t-shirt and crawled under my truck to hook chains up in the middle of winter just to pull me out. All in all a great experience and would recommend them. I’d definitely go back one day ! Justin

We arrived at norms on a Sunday afternoon. 3 adults and 3 active kids. We spent most of our time away from the campground for most of the 5 days we were there. We we only there in the mornings 9am to 12 noon and the evenings 7 pm to 9 am. We were just unpacking and the kids wanted to go for a bike ride so we let them. We hadn't found their helmets yet but told them to go ahead just stay nearby. Owner came and told us kids needed helmets. Ok, I understand. Quiet time is 11pm but we were asked at 9pm to be quiet. Our kids went to playground from 9 am to 11 am our last full day there then we went out boating. We get back at supper time and are told our kids are too loud and they are not allowed to do anything louder than talk. The next morning norms wife (the more sensible one....or so I thought) asked us to turn our music down (we did have it a bit loud because we were packing up and were a little insulted from the day before. And she had the audacity to tell me that they cringed" when our kids returned to the campground. Said she had never seen kids that loud (they were having fun). They advertise family friendly

Owners are super friendly and very accommodating. Next to boat launch. Good sized lots. Beautiful dock and deck area. Very well taken care of amenities. Quiet spot with river access. Dog friendly. Small playground for the kids.

We spent our weekend renting out the cabin and the loft to go fishing at the Slave Lake. The was very clean and roomy. Gary and Karen were wonderful hotsts and made our stay that much more enjoyable. Could not have asked for a more friendlier people. We truly enjoyed our stay and we will be back again for sure! We also rented their boats and Gary put us onto his own personal honey hole fishing spot where we caught and release over 100 fish. It was a wonderful fishing trip and one of our best fishing trip ever! I highly recommend this place!!

This campground is not for families. Stayed at Norm’s a few times before without a hassle, but this year Mr. Norm (or Grant) imposed a number of unwritten rules that ruined our stay. We got there at 11pm and left at 12 noon the next day. From 9am until noon (3 hours), Grant visited us numerous times to scold us for:• Boiling corn on a stove on the picnic table (had a plastic table cloth) – my 70-year-old mom was told she needs to cook on the ground. She obliged and cooked the rest of the breakfast inside• No dumping boiled corn water near trees – mom’s a gardener and does it at home. That’s our mistake and we apologize. At this point we realized we were under surveillance.• For the kids, no running on the grass, gravel pad, or from gravel pad to the grass. Kids were running around the playground and rocks were getting from the pad to the grass. I didn't see it, but he told me “He had to yell at the kids because they were getting rocks onto the grass”. He has no right to yell at my kids, I will do that.• No washing hands on the gravel pad to get sand off when kids come back from the playground – I don’t understand that rule. There’s sand in the gravel.• No visitors at any time– we had another couple with their 2 kids visit us for half an hour at 10am to plan our day. Even prisoners can have visitors. As we packed up to leave, Grant paid us another visit. I assumed it was to say good bye, or apologize for disturbing us so many times. Instead, he accused us of eating peanuts and leaving the shells in the firepit. I explained that we didn’t have peanuts for breakfast, and I noticed them in the firepit in the morning after I came back from fishing. He realized I was telling the truth as he knew exactly what we had for breakfast because he was watching us the entire time. He said that I should have reported it to him.I’m not going to play the racist card, but I don’t know why we were treated so bad this trip. I think that, unless you do nothing outside your camper - save yourself a headache and stay somewhere else

Great place. Owner was very nice to deal with, made some funny jokes, showed us how everything worked, and where everything is.We were just camping overnight, but will be back when camping.

Very friendly family owned RV resort. Our 3 kids enjoy their space to play, ride bikes and the fishing. We made Norm’s Walleye Camp an annual Father’Day weekend visit for Fresh Walleye on the BBQ in the nature. We look forward to visiting many years to come.
