The chicken was really flavoured and juicy. The rice was perfect and was the perfect spice level. I have never had real African food so i tried this place and it was amazing. 10/10 I would recommend.

This place is so good the food was amazing especially cow tang I just love this place.. this place is the best restaurant in Ottawa now everything is perfect. The customer service is amazing

The most horrible expérience. Went there with friends and had to wait up to 2 hours for the food to get there only to be overcooked for some, unedible for others. We tried a more friendly approach with the staff to work something out until the manager came and made everything worse. She started cursing us out and insulting us, saying we went there to eat the food and not pay. She ended up throwing us out as if we were thieves or something, raising her voice.

The service was extremely poor, and the employee who served us had a terrible attitude. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were met with unhappy faces and rude behavior. When we asked for a table, the employee rolled their eyes and gave us a dismissive response. Throughout the meal, we had to wait for long periods of time for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was cold and unappetizing.To make matters worse, the employee seemed to be annoyed by our presence and was constantly sighing and making sarcastic remarks. They were unresponsive to our requests and seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of the restaurant. When we asked for the bill, we were met with a rude response and were charged extra for items we didn't order.Overall, I would not recommend safari grill to anyone. The poor service and rude behavior of the employee made it an unpleasant experience and left a bad taste in our mouths. It's a shame because the food had the potential to be good, but the terrible service ruined the entire experience.

We had never tried African food and thought we would try gisafuriya. What an awesome flavourful stew, with just the perfect amount of spice. We ordered the small portion and have enough to feed two people another meal or two. The girls were so patient with us describing the dishes we inquired about and very accommodating. We are just passing through Ottawa, but if we lived near by this would be a regular stop for us. Thank you

I don't even know where to start. This so-called restaurant is so HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING, CATASTROPHIC, you name it! JUST DON'T GO THERE! JUST DON'T GO THERE! JUST DON'T GO THERE!This could be long, so here's what you need to know: NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AT ANY TIME IN YOUR LIFE! IT'S 1,000 TIMES BETTER TO EAT IN ANY FASTFOOD THAN IN THIS PLACE!We received our food after a 2-hour wait [people who arrived later received theirs]. When the food finally arrived, we were unpleasantly surprised to find that it was either burnt or uncooked [the rice was so raw that it bounced around in your mouth when you tried to chew it, and the chicken was so burnt that it tasted like charcoal]!We mentioned this to our friendly waitress and she offered to discuss it with her manager. The manager replied that she didn't want to talk to us and that we had to pay for everything. Having refused to pay without at least complaining, the lady who is the manager finally came and insulted us and chased us away. This lunatic took 3 of our drinks, paid for"

A client of mine kept on insisting I try this place. But I'm not in the area too often so today I happened to be working close by. I got a Lamb plate with rice and a Goat plate with rice. The meat was so juicy and tender and perfectly seasoned. The RICE was so fluffy and delicious and full of flavour. So delicious my wife was very happy when I showed up at home with 2 plates of heaven. The worker named Brenda was very courteous and explained some of the items on the menu that I was unfamiliar with. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Place was also very clean including bathrooms were spotless. Overall best African food in Ottawa. I rate it a 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone.

We ordered the chicken, the beef, the fish, and the spicy rice for take out.Well... Turns out that we didn't get the beef. We realized that after we got home and took out everything. We tried calling the restaurant but it seems like they blocked our number or something because everytime it goes straight to voicemail. That is $25 that we will never get back again. It is really disappointing considering that I was really looking forward to trying the beef.The chicken is really dry, and it tastes kind of bland. Costco chicken tastes juicier than this.The fries were really soggy. But it is what it is, can't expect much from frozen fries.The fish I cannot comment. I don't eat fish. However, my girlfriend said that it was ok.The rice is really bland. We expected some spicy rice. What we got is dry and bland rice.Overall, the food is passable, 3 stars at best. The lack of customer service is rather concerning though. I can't believe that a business would just send customer calls straight to voicemail. Therefore, I deducted a star.I don't know why people were giving this 5 stars. Either they bought reviews or found people with no standards. There are better charcoal grills. I would suggest that you take your business elsewhere.

Food was excellent, just what I needed when im searching for African food. 6/5 stars in fact because the food came out on time and the price was reasonable. The location was wack so I immediately knew the food was gonna bang. Ya’dunno!!
