Great deli section at the back!! They price it by weight and my 6” sandwich was only $4.59 total!Super great assortments of fancy meats and cheeses. Would love to come back.

Great little fancy shop of grocery items. Grab a number near the register and when called you can have a fresh sliced sandwich made. Pick cheese and meat along with toppings.Nice employees and tasty food.$ good on price of sandwiches

My go to local foods store. I don't have to walk an acre to get my nourishing foods. The variety of local and ethnic offerings in a most comfortable setting. The floorplan layout, walking through to the cashiers is organized for comfort shopping. The variety of farm goods, cheeses, produce, meats on an on is incredible. I shop here 3 times a week, keeps my grocery bill down and my food waste minimal. Frozen foods selection fabulous.Love this quaint family shopping venue!!

Absolutely love there deli department. I used to bring my kids there for sandwiches when we were out and about and it was only place all 4 would eat and not complain. Lol also there the only place I can find the deli meat i like. Staff are polite and courtesy

Went to Maltese Friday evening and noticed a person petting a tied up dog, giving it a good scratch, I noticed she had a hairnet, I thought oh she must work here. Then I saw the same person come in after us and go to the deli department and put on plastic gloves, didn’t wash her hands and proceeded to cut a bunch of meat. Whatever germs were on the dog are now on her gloves. Plastic gloves are not a substitute for hand washing. No bueno!

I come across town to get their sandwiches. They're always delicious, simple and perfect for when you're not sure what you're in the mood food. A fresh kyser bun is always the way to go here. 3-5$ for each sandwich and much better than subway

Maltese is wonderful. Their fresh made to order sandwiches are the the best in the city! Most staff are as friendly as can be, and they have a wonderful selection of local and imported groceries. The meat is top notch. No wonder there's often a lineup out the doors, don't let it deter you though, it's more than worth the wait!

Probably one of the very few grocery with a butcher shop to find halal meats in Thunder Bay. You could find Halal beef, halal lamb, halal goat meat and obviously halal chicken subjected to availability. You could expect to get discount if you buy a big chunk of meat. They've got a section with Zabiha halal meats too.
