Deslaurier Custom Cabinets

I would rate them poor customer service as I have closed a well known builder house and Deslaurier was the Kitchen Cabinet trade for them. They installed my Kitchen with a lot of flaws-No touch mechanism, no proper installation of hinges and many of cabinets are even without touch mechanism.-They missed major details of contract-The designers work for them are irresponsible and never replies you back-Poor Cabinet quality with extreme damages on themI have been waiting on the service for the last two months and haven't received anything that I would call work done or complete!!!Pathetic service and irresponsible workers!

Horrible experience working with deslaurier. I have used them for my previous custom home build and the service took so long. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and used them again on my next full home renovation. Kitchen, 3 bathrooms and a laundry room. The designer messed up the gables around the fridge and we had to wait 6 months for it to be remedied. One of the drawers isn’t he drawer bank was made to small, the replacement is now a different shade and doesn’t match. We have been waiting 6 months for brackets for the rod in our laundry room. The worst part is you must pay in full prior to delivery so they have their money and they don’t care how long it takes for the customer. I will not be using them on any future projects

We had our kitchen layout and cabinets designed and installed by Deslauriers. It was a renovation and we wanted to maximise the limited space we had to work with. Everyone we dealt with were professional and knowledgeable. The attention to details by the final inspection was impressive. We are very happy with our new kitchen and highly recommend this company.

Is there something going on with the Company? By reading other peoples frustrated stories. I had similar issues and experiences.I’ve moved in my new house on March 2021, noticed some of the cabinet doors had white spots appearing on them. I reported it on my 30 days list. Deslaurier came inspect them in May and told me the turn around will be 8 weeks for the replacements. It ended up 6 months after till November they finally came and replaced the cabinets. But it was the wrong colour! I reported it on same day, but waited almost a month for someone to get back to me and admit it was their fault. On January 2022, they sent someone again to inspect and agreed to replace the cabinets. I guess with the pressure from Builder because I’m doing the Tarion conciliation, they agreed to rush it and have it done by March. Finally the cabinets are in, but it’s a different colour again!! The manager on the phone was trying to instruct the technician to go ahead and install, I refused as the colours are way off than my original cabinet colours. My original one was like a 90% dark cocoa chocolate colour , the new ones are like 45% milky chocolate colour. Yes, they said they will redo it Again. I waited almost 2 months just for a colour sample piece delivered. And it was still not the same, but close enough that I approve it as I do not want to wait any longer. And the colour sample they provided also have white spots showing. Until now, I still have no idea and no date on when I will get the replacements (the correct colour ones).

This review is solely for the designer Alanna Wharton and the design process for our kitchen as there are many other players/roles involved in your time with Deslaurier, so this does not refer to them or any other components solely design! In short - Alanna is amazing! She worked with us for several months on the design of our kitchen renovation. She is incredibly patient and professional. If you are looking for designer help with your reno Alanna definitely has creative ideas and let her know you want them and that you want help! That is what she is there for. I wished I had pushed her to get me more out of my comfort zone" as she had beautiful suggestions for design. I think she also has a lot more talent than she is aware of so don't be shy to get her to be creative and explore many options. We were very pleased with our experience working directly with Alanna as she was fast

This was our first time working with a kitchen designer (but second kitchen renovation) and I cannot say enough about how amazing Alanna Wharton was to work with. I know what I like but I don’t know how to execute it and she made it so much easier. She made great suggestions, thought of many little details I would not have thought of and was really friendly and responsive. I also loved how she gave me so many options with an unbiased approach to style and budget, listing the pros and cons of each option so that I could make the best decision that worked for us.

We have just placed our order for kitchen, bathroom and fireplace surround cabinetry through Deslaurier. Our experience with designer Alanna Wharton was amazing. She took our plans and created a stunning vision for our home. She listens and provides great insight. I am looking forward to seeing the end results. We have had Deslaurier kitchens in previous homes and our experience with the Designers and customer service was excellent prompting us to work with them again.

I have been communicating with this company for three month to get some missing parts and replace some damaged doors for my new kitchen. All toekicks and corner mouldings installed with gaps. I can't believe they have been in business for 40 years. Any local cabinet companies would do a better job than them.Don't get fooled by their nice showroom, rewards and designers. The final product quality and install service will be a disaster.

We have moved into a new house and have Deslauier for the kitchen installation by the builder. It is really sad that the kitchen is missing alot of essential pieces. I informed them that its not safe to leave the kitchen in this state as I have an infant who crawls everywhere. Someone came for inspection but they still have not given us a date of completion. All the material is kept in the basement but they are so lazy to come over for an installation. The kitchen quality is good overall but the lack of resources and disorganized staff really frustrates end customers with Deslaurier.

Cabinets look beautiful and function well (except for the large pull-outs for the garbage - they started acting up less than a year of install). Our main concern is the paint quality. We are just over a year in and the paint is flaking on the lowers. I was given touch up paint but not sure it will be enough. For such expensive cabinetry, we are very surprised by this. Our builder told us they passed this feedback onto the company, but I want others to be aware to help with decision-making.
