Lovely place with mom and pop store feels. Fresh bakery at great price and service. Cake and bread were good for the price. Restaurant is cozy and welcoming. Right by nice beach walkway, this place added extra fun to our little weekend trip to the Steveston park. Server was very friendly and professional too and the place sell sandwiches and soup as well. We will return to try them for sure when we return to the area.

Tried this place today with my partner and doggie. She painstakingly decided on a lemon custard tart as everything looked so delicious. Cries of ecstasy could be heard as she described the crust as “out of this world”. The lemon filling delicately balanced the line of not too sweet nor sour. The only thing I would haves likes would be a dash of salted lemon zest to round off the flavour. Price point was an added bonus. Coming in at under $3, I would be happy to bring a dozen of these to a party (post pandemic!). Looking forward to trying other treats here and supporting a local business!

Good place to find a place to sit down and have a snack. The cookies, cakes and other bakery items are fairly priced compared to other local coffee shop. The shop isn’t too big but there’re a few tables inside and outside of the shop for short-time visit.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting a bakery that left a lasting impression on me, but for all the wrong reasons. The moment I stepped foot into the establishment, an overwhelming stench hit my nostrils, and it was immediately apparent that something was seriously amiss. Little did I know that I was about to encounter a bakery teeming with a mice infestation. As I approached the display counter, my eyes were immediately drawn to the trays of pastries and cakes. They appeared enticing from a distance, but upon closer inspection, I couldn't help but notice the telltale signs of tiny teeth marks and droppings. It was clear that these unwelcome visitors had taken up residence in this establishment long before my arrival. The sight of mice scurrying across the floor was both unsettling and unsanitary. Not only did it make me question the bakery's commitment to cleanliness and hygiene, but it also completely shattered any confidence I had in their ability to provide safe and quality products. It was a clear indicator of a severe lack of proper pest control measures, which is simply unacceptable for any food establishment.

I’ve been coming to Steveston Bakery for the better part of 3 decades. It’s a cute bakery with lovely muffins and baked goods. Recently, the quality of food has dropped significantly, while prices have risen. I popped in today for a chocolate pecan tart. I took it home before tasting it. It is awful! The pastry is extremely stale and tastes of freezer burn. I would’ve taken it back, but it wasn’t worth the trip. The gingerbread cookie I also bought was pleasant, but not very fresh. I’m not sure if this change is due to new ownership, but with food quality this low, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

Purchased a selection of muffins, croissants, scones and cookies this morning for family and friends to enjoy while watching the Salmon Festival…unfortunately everything was stale, hard, inedible and, frankly, gross. What a disappointment and waste of $50 as this stuff was likely a couple days old but they probably didn’t care because they were busy. In this case Timmies would have been better.

They have a good bread :-) that’s the best that I can say about it. My hubby and I went to the café today to get breakfast. Mine was the standard breakfast fare of two eggs bacon toast and cubed fried potatoes. (16.50) Hubby had the sausage hash. We both ordered eggs easy over. And waters to drink. Both plates came with eggs over hard. The bacon was good quality but flabby. The cube potatoes was both burnt and soggy. Not a great combo. No water ever came. But, great toast! (even if the packet strawberry jam was stale)

Nice quiet coffee bakery shop in Steveston. The fruit tart was super sweet. The carrot cake was good not overly sweet. Fair prices, but not anything fancy or memorable in terms of bakery selection.
