Olympian School of Swimming Markham

One has to wonder where all these 5 star ratings come from and why? How can you just rate a place and not explain why you are giving them 5 stars.This place is far from perfect.It's very overcrowded even with the 4:1 ratio of the lower level classes. There is never anywhere to sit & observe my kids when it's turn for their classes. Often people are taking up seats with their belongings or putting their feet up. Can't even find a place to hang up our jackets as every single hanger is always taken and there are shoes everywhere on the floor, my kids have fallen so many times trying to take off their shoes.We started classes last Spring (3 kids) and i have yet to see any sort of management there. I get the the feeling that the teenaged coaches" are running the place. They are often sitting at the front tables socializing with each other

An update of as of June 12, the owner/manager contacted me today and arranged the refund. I appreciate someone is finally taking care of the issue, however it should’ve done correctly and effectively in the first place. I am hoping the management team should hear your customer’s voice and make necessary changes before losing more students. Changed the rating from 1 star to 3.I honestly don’t know where those five stars came from. My son had been learning there for almost 2 years. Coaches changed 3-4 times, informed me class cancellation in the last minute. Very difficult to book alternative time. Never be able to get hold of the staff over the phone. Asked for a refund since June 2, no one contacted yet until then. I don’t understand the purposes of having a phone number or email, since no one ever replied.

I would put 5 stars but due to unorganized events they are not deserve more than 3 stars. Before presenting medals to each and every swimmer they suppose to call swimmer's name and backup all the crowd from the stage so the parents will be able to see and their kids and take a picture or video. The owners need improvement in their organization.

Highly, highly recommended. I went to Olympian for help in passing a firefighter swim test (15minute water tread). I had literally 5 days to learn to tread water. I had my doubts but I took a chance and got in contact with Gary the owner. I explained my situation and was quickly scheduled for 3 private sessions (over 4 days). Gary was a fantastic instructor/coach (as well as instructor josh who I had one lesson with) who took the time to listen to my questions and pushed me just enough to ensure I met my goal. Needless to say, 3 private lessons and I went from sinking like a rock to treading comfortably for 15 minutes and passing my swim test. Many thanks to Gary and Shauna and the great staff they have at Olympian School of swimming. Top notch people who are passionate about swimming and helping the individuals who come to the swim school.

The environment is ok and the front desk staff are friendly. However, I see quite a few coaches not qualified for teaching, not about their skills but their teaching attitude.The coach in the picture was teaching her students, but her eyes were not on her students. Four kids were just soaking in the water and talking with her accompany for quite a while.I definitely wont renew the membership here anymore.

Friendly staff. Open concept. Lots of area for outdoor shoes and racks to hang coats. Three hairdryers. Two tables with chairs if needed. Excellent viewing area alongside the three pools or in the cooler viewing area behind the full-wall glass. Pool area is kept warm for the swimmers. Comfortable warm water in the pools. There is an endless pool also. Two open showers in the pool area to rinse off. Family (mixed) and separate change rooms. Festive lights and giant inflatibles.

The washrooms are very gross. There is little to no bench space and very little change rooms.

Kids like it here. Good instructors and separate pools for different levels of advancement. Parking lot isn’t the greatest but usually spots available.

My son starts swimming lesson, after two years Covid impact, totally as beginner again to start from fresh. Great Thanks for coach Candice! She is very patience and confidence, guided the interest to learn. I am very confident that my son will be a excellent swimmer here.

Yes, right here, my 4-year-old son nearly drowned, but when I looked at my phone for a minute and then looked up at my son, he had disappeared into the water, and then I saw a dad sitting by the pool. My son was pulled out of the water by him. He was choking on the water, but the teacher didn't notice him. The sanitation of the swimming pool is also terrible. I think that to save money and not change the water, the water has become viscous, and bubbles are easily formed due to desperately adding medicine. I must write these here now so that there are no more children from dangers that could have been avoided.I'm amazed at how quickly the merchants respond; it's ridiculous that you guys should be ashamed. Because logically, everyone should be able to understand that you don't even know my child's name, so you can find out so quickly that it didn't happen at your school, right? After five years, I finally put down my heart and wrote a comment to tell everyone the truth. Google has my phone number. Please call me to verify.
