Tom Lee Music Coquitlam

Came in looking for a digital piano and did a lot of research ahead of time. I knew this location is older/smaller but I was plesantly surprised they had most of the various Yamaha digital piano ranges to try assuming you are looking for a Yamaha piano.Linda did not give any pressure and was not pushy at all. She ended up introducing me to Yamaha silent pianos which I knew nothing about. Checks all my boxes except the price obviously. She told me all the various features etc. but I still like to validate and read online forums before buying. Everything checked out and I worked out my finances and decided to go with a new Yamaha silent piano a few days later!Only comment, expect to pay more to move a piano up a flight of stairs. I was originally told it was going to be around an additional $100 but it turned out to be $200.

I went to Coquitlam branch to buy a guitar. Staff were friendly, helpful and to the point. Good experience.

I thoroughly enjoy shopping at this location as I have always been met with the utmost professional care!I have often had multiple questions about all kinds of products and each and every-time the staff has gone out of their way to accommodate me in finding the answers to the problems I have had.Since I have been shopping at the Tom Lee Music Coquitlam location I have always been provided with the highest quality of service I have since come to expect. Not only has my musical and technical knowledge vastly improved but I now own a precious collection of beautiful instruments that I’m very proud of!Dallas and his team have always provided me with a wonderful and enjoyable Tom Lee Music shopping experience! I had phoned earlier and spoke to a helpful gentleman who identified our needs and confirmed that the electric piano we had researched was a good choice and was in stock at their warehouse. I was thus expecting a good experience, especially when greeted at the door by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member who exchanged some friendly banter with my wife and me. He showed us where a good selection of pianos were but we had to wait for the dedicated sales lady. When she came we were looking at a Casio for about $6,000. She said that the Yamahas were better. I asked in what way. She said in every way. I asked if I spent the same money on a Yamaha as I was looking at if I would therefore get a better piano with perhaps more features or whatever. She did not understand my question, which was perfectly understandable given that her mother tongue was clearly Mandarin. As the piano was for my Chinese wife I thought they would be more comfortable speaking in their native tongues, so I asked in Mandarin if she was Chinese. She indignantly snapped in English that she was Canadian. She then led us to the roughly $1,500 Yamaha she seemed to want to sell us. When I told her we were looking for something mid-range, she said all of their pianos were mid range. I pointed to the next model up and asked what the difference was. She said that the one I was pointing to was more better". I politely corrected her English

After an unpleasant experience at another Tom Lee store, I drove over to the Coquitlam location. The difference was night and day! Within minutes, Matt had come over and asked if he could help me. He is very personable and easy to talk to. Linda also helped with my sale. She, too, was great - very knowledgeable and quick to answer questions and check out information for me. They exhibited excellent customer service. I would definitely recommend people looking for a great store with personable, knowledgeable staff to stop in there. Nice store, nice selection - somewhat limited in certain areas, but extensive in others. (probably depends on what the store sells).

Best guitar shop in the TriCities. I took my banged up guitar in today and the clerk literally did a full fix and guitar is like new.

Tom Lee Coquitlam has been around since I was a teenage and they have been supporting local musicians with great product selection and customer service. My review focuses mainly on my first piano purchase at the said location, and my encounter with Susan, who's help made my shopping experience extremely satisfied.I have been a guitarist for many years and I was in the market for a digital piano. The Yamaha CLP700 series is a very hot item during covid, not only did they come out only months ago but production has been rather slow due to the pandemic. There's a long waiting list (3+ months) for one of these CLP7xx digital pianos. Tom Lee has always been a great place to shop pianos because of their vast showroom.Susan Xiao (piano product manager) showed us all the available models in the showroom and gave us sound advice on which to order according to our needs. We ordered ours in November 2020 and most models are still backordered. Susan was able to procure one for us and expedited our delivery. Her instruction on how to make payments were very clear and easy. She went the extra mile to arrange cost saving and hassle free warehouse pickup because we wanted it as soon as possible right after new year. Without her efforts we'd still be waiting and left unassisted like what we experienced with purchases from Amxzon. I'm just glad we bought it from Susan because she's very knowledgeable and resourceful.Overall we're very happy we bought our digital piano from Susan at Tom Lee Coquitlam. Nothing can replace good in-person customer service.

I have been going to Tom Lee since the 1990 ….always get great service and advice from Dallas my main man !He always try’s to give me a great deals even when I don’t expect one …I thought it was time to show him some love !! If you need to get a guitars ,drums or what ever your musical needs are .Talk to Dallas before you make a important decision on an instrumentYou won’t be disappointed!

Look for Susan for best experience. She is knowledgeable and patience. She helped us choose the most suitable piano for our kids. She even keep providing extended support after the sale. We’ll definitely recommend this store. Thank you Susan!

I brought my violin to the store for some repairs. The branch manager Dollas Todd not only gave me a great deal of help on knowing my violin's problem, but also fixed my violin as soon as he can. He is being very knowledgeable on music instruments, and he tried not to charge me too much for the repair work on my violin. Now my violin is good as new. I am happy and I'll definitely come back if i ever need anything.
