Just had a free duct cleaning provided by a builder with this company. The person first use a hose to blow all the vent to “loosen the dust” then he drilled 3 holes in the ducts in utility room and opened the furnace cover, blew into the holes he drilled and blew the coil in the furnace, some plastic wraps came out along with some debris and fell on his head, then he brought in a big hose for vacuum left it near the filter of the furnace. The house is more dusty than it was before the duct cleaning. My question is why loosen the dust in each vent? This is a 3storey house, I couldn’t feel any suction in the vents when he had the big suction hose in the utility room. I know it’s “free”, but is this how duct cleaning should be? He said please sign the certificate or else the company won’t be paying me……
