Classic Concrete

Ryan has done so much work for our home...many people stop and ask who did the work. Our driveway is done in the rocky top and is very forgiving to stains etc. Our pool deck and surrounding area has all been done by Ryan and his crew in the patterned concrete.. All workers are super friendly, they clean everything up and make sure customers and neighbours are happy before their job is done. They even marked in a basketball key for the grandkids with a different colour cement. He is presently doing another driveway for us with some custom ideas that we have only ever seen Classic do so we are looking forward to the end product. We are very happy with the work done by Classic Concrete, we would recommend them to anyone looking for concrete work

I'm really sad to write this review. I'm not even sure if Classic Concrete is still in business but almost 2 years after they did my driveway, I feel compelled to share what happened with our project publicly. At first, Ryan and his team was great to work with. We did a large project, including a back patio, long driveway, and new front porch and walkway area. Ryan and Nicole helped us design something that worked well with our space and remained flexible as we made changes and choices throughout. They were just going to fix our existing front porch, but once they started working, realized that they wouldn't be able to fix it, so constructed a new one for us. Getting started took a while and I didn't find that the work went the fastest (we had some bad weather but there were days where it felt like they should have been working and were not, or that they could have worked longer days to get the job done while the weather was good) but that was no huge deal to us. The design looked great, but some finishing touches weren't spectacular and the post-project clean up could have been better. Again, we were willing to overlook this because I think we got a good price on the project and Ryan was so great to work worth throughout. When the work was done, we noticed that there was a ton of surface cracking at the bottom half of the driveway (the size of a whole normal double width driveway). We asked Ryan to take a look, and he said that it shouldn't be an issue and just to contact him if we noticed a problem the following year. Within the month, we noticed the bottom edge of the driveway, where it meets the curb, was crumbling apart. Nicole and Ryan took a look but we never heard back. The next spring, we started seeing the results of all that cracking. The surface of the driveway is crumbling away. It has continued to get worse. When we contacted Ryan about it, he failed to respond to my emails. After repeated emails, he finally responded, not so politely saying that the concrete company was looking into it and that fixing these issues take time. I never heard from him again. I suspect we will need to replace that part of the driveway within a couple of years. My research tells me that this problem is either the result of a bad batch of concrete, too big of a pour, or improper workmanship. This was a hugely expensive project that we did because we needed parts of it and it made more sense to do all of it at once. We planned to not have to deal with it again for 15-20 years, and it probably won't even make it 5. It is so disappointing and I feel Classic Concrete should feel ashamed of how they dealt with it. I also want to mention that I know at least 2 of the 5 star reviews on this page are from members of the owner's family.

I have tried getting a hold of someone from here for days now. I have sent an email, called twice, spoke to someone who didn't have any knowledge of what I was asking and have waited patiently for someone to return my calls. I find it completely unacceptable that it has been 3 days since my last phone call and still not one person has decided that my business is worthy of a call back. Well due to your lack of customer service or appreciation for just having a customer interested in you in general, I have decided to take my money elsewhere.

I will tell why I am doing this 5 stars review. Because I had an issue with them. Yes, there was an issue during part of our work. And guess what? Mr Joe stayed until past 10pm and helped to fix. I really hate the fact that they stayed late but I really appreciate their dedication to help to get it resolved. Our sidewalk is great and they really know what they are doing. They came with an Army" of machinery and they were very fast. Thank you so much!"

Classic Concrete was great to work with. Prompt, efficient and everyone loves our new lane way. Thanks for an excellent job.

Have tried to contact this company many times over the years and no one e-mails, calls, etc. I spoke to one woman twice who said she would pass on my concerns and nothing ever came of it. Thought I would contact them to get some ideas on fixing the chunks of aggregate and stamped concrete that are breaking off the driveway. Seal they put on did not stay on the driveway or stop staining on the garage floor. If considering a driveway look at previous jobs with their stamp at the end.
