Amanda Lemoine is a gem. She was very knowledgeable, kind and I got the service I needed in a professional manner. Couldn’t have asked for a better representative. Thank you.

(Edited) I initially had a bad experience with this branch trying to get my taxes done. I reached out in March and as the tax deadline approached, wasn't hearing anything from the tax consultant I was matched with. I called several times, trying to get updates, and each time was assured by an employee that my taxes would be done, but since they would not incur a late fee, they were prioritizing other taxes first. This was very frustrating. Eventually they reached out in late September (5 months after the tax deadline) and apologized for their service. My taxes were done very quickly after that, which I appreciated. It turned out there was a late penalty for my taxes, despite what I'd been told, but HR Block covered this. I appreciated the way they fixed the situation, but I am a bit wary about using HR Block in the future.

This is the fourth year with this branch of H&R Block, and this is the second year I did it with Catherine. She is smart and her work is so professional. She has a vast knowledge of her job. I still remember that last year she provided me a detailed answer regarding one of my questions, so this year the tax process was very smooth and within a very short period. Also, she communicated with me and my wife through her email to complete some pending documents.Thank you so much Catherine

The Secretary is a total a-hole. She is an older lady who is roughly 60 years old and was talking rudely about me while I was only a meter away from her. She said she couldn't wait to go home because the customers are being very rude today. I literally did nothing to her. She did the same thing to me last year. It's unfortunate because I had such a great experience with the accountant I dealt with. It's sad that a receptionist can ruin such a lovely experience.

I had a very bad encounter with one of the accountants there. I put 2 stars as the rest of staff was nice. My review is not about the office or other members there who all seem nice and more than cappable, but one person in particular has been very unprofessional, lied about his competences and failed to keep me informed. This has broken my trust with the particular office, unfortunately.I have been using another H&R Block office for multiple years, but the person that I used to work with left the office. I needed cross border tax return (CAN and USA) and therefore had to find an office. I was referred to this office on Joseph Howe after applying online and getting matched by the online system, because from what I understand, Sharon, who works there, is the person that has the knowledge for that. Unfortunately, she is quite busy and has to do hundreds of these returns and I was therefore referred to Kumudu H. We had a phone conversation during which I explained my complex tax situation and he confirmed that he could do my return without problems. I therefore submitted my documents to him on February 26. During the next 2 weeks, he contacted me for the usual questions and precisions as he worked on my file. He told me that he would be done in mid March and thus we planned an in person meeting to review the return on March 18. The day of the meeting, he contacted me to cancel the appointment stating that he would need more time. On March 20, he disclosed to me that he needed a second department to review his work for US returns and that they found mistakes in what he did and therefore , he would not be able to complete it and would refer me to Sharon, who unfortunately has no time this late in the game as she already commited to many people before me. I tried to contact him on several occasions asking if he could assure me that she would be able to finish it on time, as my tax liability if filing late will be significant, and if anyone else in the rest of the country could take over to ensure filing on time. He answered once that my file was transfered to Sharon and to wait for her to reach out. Then he did not answer to me again on further inquiries from my part. On April 5 I finally decided that I could not wait for them anymore and needed to transfer elsewhere. This has caused quite a stressful event for me as I now need to find another firm that could finish my returns on time, while I apply less than 2 weeks before the US deadline.

I highly recommend Amanda Lemoine for all your personal tax needs. Not only was she personable and professional, she took all the stress of taxes away by ensuring I had everything I needed beforehand. I left feeling confident that everything was done and taken care of for me. Absolutely phenomenal service!

I'll fully admit, I'm 36 years old and had no idea how taxes work. My father's accountant had always done mine. It was incredibly easy to book and the entire process was very accommodating and easy. Amanda is an absolute gem.

I have been getting my taxes filed by Sharon Daikens at this location since 2014 as I need both US and Canadian taxes filed. I dropped my return information off on March 6th as restrictions do not allow for being at the location while things are filed, which I was more than happy to do. However almost 2 months later, I still have not had my returns completed. I have called 5 times to personally follow up. The first time was only a week after submitting, my partner had gotten his back the same day after filing and I was hoping to get an estimate on how long it would take to complete them. When Sharon called back, she said she would get to them when she got to them. I waited another 3 weeks trying to be patient and understanding and circumstances. When I called again I spoke to another man in the office who said he would pass along the message for her to call back as she was with a client, fair enough. A week and a half later I call again after not hearing anything, met with an answering machine. I’ve called twice since to get the same thing. When I went in to file on MARCH 6th there was a promotion for $50 per return, now I’m left crossing my fingers they didn’t lose my paperwork with sensitive personal information, and at best I’ll get to pay full price and it’s past the deadline.This is so wildly unprofessional. I frankly would have rather a call saying they wouldn’t be able to complete my return in a timely manner and to find someone else to do it. It would have at least shown respect and value of my time and money for the service they are supposed to be providing, especially to someone who has been coming here for years, and encouraged others to use their location as well.This level of unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable.

*edited 11/25/2021 (first reviewed 07/30/2021): I had initially had a very troubling experience at this location but the staff went above and beyond to rectify the situation. I had experienced some very poor communication and unprofessional treatment dealing with my US and Canadian taxes. It was a tiresome process, but H&R Block remained committed to getting it sorted out and compensated me adequately for the inconvenience. Taxes are a very convoluted system and I have gained an appreciation for the work these people do. Thank you.
