The Home Depot

I have never felt the urge to write a review on anything but after the experience I had today, I felt the need to inform other people, that could possibly have the same encounter as me.Me and my dad came to Home Depot today to get paint, and some other odds and ends.(Mind you, my dad doesn’t speak the best English but it is still understandable, and I’m fluent in English.) The man at the paint department was unhelpful, rude and degrading. Unknowingly, I asked if we could get half a can of paint (My dad and I know nothing about paint, what sizes they come in, what questions to ask about paint, the different finishes, etc.). The man working stopped and stared at my dad and I for 3 seconds before responding in a very demeaning “How do I do that?” The silence and smirks continued every time my dad and I said anything. Every time we said something, he looked at us as if we were idiots and lesser than him. As someone who used to work in retail, I’ve always viewed customer service as having the role of informing customers about your products, and we did not get that sort of treatment today. At one point, he asked us what type of finish we wanted and my dad and I didn’t know what our options were. Instead of explaining our options, he grabbed the sheet of the different finishes and started pointing at them, as if we wouldn’t understand his English. I saw him interact with other customers before and after us, without any difficulties.I have never been left so angry and disappointed at any store except for today. I myself, have never had any problems like this when I’m by myself (because I’m fluent in English and often get mistaken as a different ethnicity) or with my Caucasian boyfriend so when this happened I couldn’t help but feel that it was racially motivated. My dad used to take me to home depot all the time as a kid and it just saddens me how we were treated today.

This store has amazing people on the contractor side who are very helpful & happy. We use Home Depot all the time for our small business, we rent tools from here as well. Having a ProX account is a bonus.

Drove 2.5 hrs one way to buy a bathtub only to get home only to find out on install day it was damaged .Now have to drive 2.5 hrs each way to return it as they refuse to ship one out to replace it as it costs too much yet i have to spend 140$ in diesel to return it and miss a day of work.If u buy anything large boxed from them id open it in store and check it prior to purchase.Manager has no intentions to fix the situation other then a 100$ discount if i buy another one why would i spend another dollar in saskatoon home depot I will not be doing any further business with them.

Bad experience with their vehicle rental.I was there to inquire initially and they rushed into telling ‘oh it’s not available it’s too busy’After i turned to inquiring about it was booked for a different day and called prior to the day to confirm and was told it is cancelled and that the email wasn’t sent for cancellation because the employee helping did not put it in correctly. Upon asking no empathy rather again and again ‘sir i do not have control over when Van’s come back’But you do have control over your system on notifying customers when a cancellation is being done especially when renting a vehicle by someone will always be for a time sensitive thing.You guys need more vans or pay extra attention to the system with only 2 vans for the whole city.

I know people have stigmas towards home depot. But I've been going to this one for about 4 years and the staff are actually super helpful especially Kent, and the dude in the paint section. Really helpful and nice staff. Prices are typical. Staff are great!!

There are a variety of products you can find here. The only thing I was concerned about was the price in the store was different from the website.

A one stop shopping experience for all your homes needs. Some prices seem a little high but the convenience factor makes up for it. Wonderful that it is easily located on the edge of my community, making DIY projects a breeze. The lumber at this location is usually pretty good.

The Home Depot is an all inclusive location. You can buy a whole house and garden as COMPLETELY KNOCKED DOWN (CKD) and reassemble at sight without missing any component if your list is complete! They have good trade representatives who will not disturb you while searching but are ready to advise whenever you call on them. They have a wood cutting section, floriculture section and sit in lawn mower. Everything needed to make a complete compound is available.

I don't normally write reviews but the employee I spoke with in the paint section deserves 5 stars. Their name is Will, Will was extremely helpful when selecting paint and very friendly/personable. We had a great chat and some good laughs. If you need help with paint or a good chat go find Will!

Home Depot is Home Depot. I am happy with the products. They seem to be hiring as many staff as they can get. We need to update the photo as there definitely has not been a subway here for a long time.
