Heat-Line Freeze Protection Systems

Two years ago I installed the Carapace heated waterline which is a plastic water pipe with the heating wire built into the pipe. The wire is not exposed to the outside of the pipe no worries it exposed to the inside of the pipe it is sandwiched in between two layers of plastic pipe. The pipe in my application is in the lake and draws water up to my cottage. The installation was straightforward and the waterline was 220 feet long. I am located in northern Ontario. I have not had a problem using this product and I highly recommend it. This past Friday I picked up the Paladin heating cable and I installed it on the sewage line where all of my household water drains to my septic tank. Again I did it myself having never done any of this type of work before. The staff is amazing and the answer all of your questions and always reply promptly if you send an email. I have emailed and been on the phone with them to ask questions and always and satisfied when it’s time to hang up the phone and I know what I have to do as far as installation. This product is superior I would not recommend any of the big box store pipe thawing products that are out there. This heat line can be wrapped over itself if need be whereas other products in the big box stores you cannot wrap the wire on top of itself during installation. This is definitely the way to go heat line freeze protection is amazing I highly recommend you spending the time and look into their products. It is money worth spending and gives you definitely peace of mind. Thank you to everybody at heat line.

Amazing product , our inline heat tape is amazing , we are running almost 300 feet 240 volt to the lake , pro tip , make sure to use a timer we use a intermatic CT2000 , In my application I have it set to %10 on , or 3 seconds on every 30 seconds , no problems . I just ran the water from the lake and felt the water temp to adjust the timer accordingly . We are on our 3rd winter with this product

I was quite impressed with the ease in which the FM-Retro pushed into the pipe; 150’ with no problem. I’m confident I could’ve gone 50’ more. It was a warm, sunny day which helped unwind the line and feed it in. The connection also worked perfectly…Todd was very helpful and responded to my questions almost immediately. The product was delivered as scheduled. It was a pleasure to work with a company so focused on providing a good product with what seemed to be an emphasis on customer service. I won't know until February or March if the FM-Retro will solve my problem but I have complete confidence it will!

Last January I spent innumerable days under the cottage thawing the last 10 feet of our well line by hand. Kettle after kettle of boiling water down a pex tube, sitting in the mud, soaking wet and freezing. Then I discovered Heat-Line. Installed the Heat-line inline heat tape in the coldest place in the USA and it was a huge success. I would recommend this product as it is easy to install and very well designed.

Two days after Christmas we arrived at the cottage and our waterline was frozen. I called heat-line and left a message - they were closed for the holidays. About an hour later, Lorne, the company founder, called me from his vacation and spent a couple of hours very patiently trouble shooting the issue with me - now we have water!!!
