Boone Plumbing and Heating Supply Inc

I visited Boone Plumbing for the first time yesterday in search of 20 inch whole-house filter cartridges. The counter staff, although polite and attentive, assured me that they were not stocked and to get one it would take about 3 weeks. Same with quick connect tubing valves. I was pretty shocked at this, but it's not unreasonable that a bit-player like me would be politely shown the door. There really isn't any upside to dealing with someone wanting to special-order an 8 dollar part. Inside, it is obvious that Boone is more focused on contractors doing entire buildings with standard, high volume parts.If you're in the bigger volume game and you don't want to mess around with retail focused suppliers, Boone's is probably a good place to be looking. They obviously have the stuff to set you up with a thousand feet of tubing and all the PEX accessories your crew can use in short order (the stacks of tubing rolls were almost 3 stories high in the back.) However, if you're looking for someone to hold your hand and show you the esoteric, one-off solution to the fitting that is no longer made, then steer clear - the retail shops have the staff on hand who can set you up with a few of these, a couple of those and one of them things there and get you back to your weekend plumbing project.Kudos to the gent at the counter. He never gave me the impression that I was an annoyance which, in hindsight, I must have been - and I accept that. That gracefulness points to a quality that Boone's should be proud of. For that, 4 stars.

This is a local company I would want to like, but I have never been able to buy want I need for my HVAC there, either because they don't have it, or because their customer service is poor. My last attempt was on May 25th. I called because I was looking for a contactor for my AC. They directed my call to a voicemail, and they never bothered calling me back. So I ended up buying the part online the next day. Three strikes you're out.

One of their drivers (Trevor) wanted to pick a fight with me because he decided to tail gate me in the slow lane because there was another truck in the fast lane, then almost caused an accident. After he kept making gesture to fight me?? Had to speak up somewhere. Tried to call them, no manager...

Great customer experience! I went to Boone to find a water-inlet hose for my portable washing machine. I was a bit nervous as I had no knowledge or experience when it comes to plumbing. The staff member was patient and took the time to listen to what I am looking for. He was both friendly and professional. Can't recommend a better place for your plumbing needs if you're someone like me who has no knowledge about the subject. Thanks Boone!

Dealt with Phil by email, I explained my project, he understood what I was doing, gave some good recomendations & I picked up my supplies without any delays or problems. Great service, thanks Phill & everyone else there!

Have had positive experience in the past. It's best to know what you need before you call. I'm no plumber, so I feel their frustration over the phone when I call trying to source a part. I guess it depends on who you talk to. Customer service during my most recent call was borderline surly. Oh well.

First visit. Absolute dynamite service and selection. Had my part in stock and found it in 20 seconds. Customer for life after 2 minutes :)

I went to Boone on Algoma today and left disappointed. I actually left the store and drove all the way to the Woodward location due to a lack of respect. I was served promptly and treated with respect by the man behind the counter. I had a list of black iron parts that added up to $1298. It took about 10 minutes to relay my order, pay and load my truck...the longest part was driving there from the Algoma location.I own and operate two businesses that require a lot of HVAC and plumbing parts. I create plans, source parts and have third party technicians complete installations.

Needed to replace a dead AC motor. They sold me the motor and capacitors. I got everything installed and working again but the fan blade was seized on the old motor. I returned to purchase the blade and was told no because i am not a HVAC contractor.... but it's ok to sell me everything else? Now it's hot as hell in my house and I need to get a contractor to buy the 1 item they wont sell me. I feel like a kid trying to buy beer under age. Guy at the counter was great but their policy left me hanging out to dry. Don't bother if you are not a contractor.

The guys at Boone are always able to help out tradesmen looking for the right materials. If they do not have it on hand they can order it in and even ship it to the shop. Keep up the good work guys.
