Loved the takoyaki and how big the octopus pieces were inside each one! Food was really good but just wished we were given a bigger table because the plates are huge and the tables are really small so it felt a bit cramped.Nonetheless, the server was really nice and we overall enjoyed our food. Will come back soon!

I loved all the appetizers! The chicken katsu itself was pretty good but I felt as though the dish required much more curry sauce to enjoy it. Moreover, I wish the place had a more vibrant atmosphere. All in all, I enjoyed my time here and would come again!

Katsuya is a franchise in many cities and it's comforting to discover their expansion into London. This is a fairly large restaurant which did not pack its tables tightly, so the dining experience feels much better than most of its other locations.Staff seated us quickly and even helped to move the tables to accommodate our party of 6. Taking our orders took a while but the kitchen was able to bring out our food fairly quickly. We noticed it was consistent with other tables as well and the problem is that 2 wait staff is insufficient to service the volume of dine-in customers and still handle the takeout business. In terms of food and flavor, there were high points and mediocre ones. Serving pop without glasses doesn't fit well with the dining experience, especially at the price point. This is not a diner. The place is more of a restaurant that specializes in just one specific sub-cuisine. The Japanese beer served is Asahi. It was good and did come in a glass.I was very impressed with the takoyaki. It is not made in the traditional manner as it seems to have been flash fried for its outer layer, but it really works. The chicken kaarage is non-traditional as well but it's flavor is on point. However, the batter is simply too thick and comes across as too filling. Kaarage is meant as a dish to fire up appetite. It's a shame about the balance.Their katsu is solid as per most of its locations. I would say the sauces are also very consistent and good quality. One suggestion for improvement was that for the snow chili sauce, we felt it was better done if the cheese was melted on top of the chili sauce instead of just sprinkled on.As per most of downtown London, parking can be an issue at times but this particular corner being so close to Victoria Park, lends itself well to foot traffic.

Very good asian food, as an asian have tried many places for asian food. But this restaurant is the best I have eaten in London. I have often eaten at this restaurant with friends no less than a hundred times. The food is reasonably priced and the ingredients are relatively fresh. Especially Katsu is the most classic.

Delicious food! We had rib eye, LA short ribs, makgeolli at the patio. The short ribs were marinated well and tastes really good. We are looking forward to go back!

On a whim I tried Katduya figuring bbq (and beer) can’t be bad. I was right!I had the Chicken Karaage, which is deep fried using traditional Japanese methods. I don’t know for certain what the ‘traditional Japanese methods’ are but I do know it is VERY delicious and I need more of this in my life.Perfectly battered chicken thighs served with 3 sauces: possibly the tastiest teriyaki sauce I’ve had, wasabi mayo, and Korean BBQ. The wasabi and bbq sauces were my favourite, taking nothing away from the teriyaki.I will definitely be back to try more! Their Tuesday and Wednesday wing night is, essentially, what I had for lunch.Service was attentive and helpful. Great experience!

We ordered appetizers of Gyoza, Chicken Karagee, and Crab Meat Cheese Croquettes. Appetizers were okay, not great, not bad.For a main I got the Curry Katsu and my partner got the Carbonara Udon. I thought the Curry Katsu was okay but, the Carbonara Udon was repulsive, we left it to be thrown out it was so bad. The people we were with got the Gold & Silver Katsu and Teriyaki Katsu, which were both okay as well. The main problem with this place is the prices, they are absolutely atrocious and the food is definitely not up to the prices standards. We left feeling extremely disappointed with our choice. The service was also just… okay, our waitress was accommodating but, also sort of rude. The atmosphere was fine but, only offering bbq outside is a huge miss.Overall, what an extreme disappointment. Skip this chain and go somewhere local next time you dine out.
