Vignette walks the difficult line of coffee by day, elevated dining by night. The food is absolutely incredible, I can’t understate that. Some of the best bites in the city. The cocktail list is small, but to the point. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for the best bites in the city.

Tried the testing menu and thought it was okay, but what was very good was the regular menu that we also ordered from. If we go again we would skip the tasting menu and go straight to the regular menu. If we didn't order the additional dishes we wouldn't have been fullThe highlight of the tasting menu was the pork neck and dessert.

Argh. It truly pains me to write this review.Given Vignette’s illustrious pedigree, I had very high expectations. It wasn’t great. Let me explain. We did the ticketed tasting menu, and intended to do a wine pairing. Sadly, Vignette subscribes to the trendy ‘natural’ wine fad; since everyone in my party was an experienced wine drinker, we had no interest in almost all of the wine, so we skipped the pairing. The food itself wasn’t great; I’ll post a photo of the tasting menu. The only dishes that were good were the MAUI RIBS & Mc'CHICKEN, the BROKEN SOUR CREAM, the SOLE VERONIQUE and the SODA BREAD. Everything else was average, except for the ENDIVE TART TARTIN which I almost threw up it was so bitter, and the ROSE HIP for dessert which was just weird to serve as dessert. I couldn’t chew through the grissolly red meat in the PICANHA dish.I think the worst part of the experience was the spacing between courses. We were there for over ***three and a half hours***. This didn’t only feel like a waste of time, but it ended up costing a lot of money in drinks (which maybe was the intent?).It wasn’t entirely terrible: service was mostly attentive and nice, the cocktails were all spectacular (in fact I suggest going here only for drinks and not food), and the presentation of everything was beautiful. There was also a lot of food for the price point, which was really nice.I hope Vignette can improve. I like Published and love Novella, but Vignette ain’t it.

This place shares the same location as Nouvella. And the same restauranteur behind Published and Susu, so they know what they’re doing. Same great food and service. It’s an intimate setting, quite dark and sometimes loud. The server checks up on you regularly, keeps your wine glass full, and the runners explain the food with great detail. The foie was crispy and savoury. The beef tartare melted. But the highlight was the tajarin, which was like a cacio e pepe. Savoury and great mouth chew texture. For dessert, the creme caramel made you feel like a kid again.

Phenomenal meal and incredible service. All dishes were great. Loved the scallop. We will be ordering the Welsh Rarebit for take out often.

Came here for Valentines dinner and had a great experience! Service was warm and attentive. The food came out at the perfect timing, not too quick and not too slow. My favourite dishes of the night were: scallop crudo, foie gras baklava and the miso creme brûlée. All the food was well done. The Tajarin and beef carpaccio was on the saltier side but still delicious. The miso crème brûlée was so smooth, a must order!

This place was really good. I booked early because everything in the Boxset Collective seems to be doing well and this place did not disappoint. My wife and I had the tasting menu and were impressed with each dish and the great service. Everyone seemed to be sincerely passionate about the food and the head chef (Ashley Kurtz) came out to present a number of dishes personally and explain the thought process behind the creations. The snack plate of a mini steak tartare and mcchicken sandwiches was fun and delicious, the Kurobuta pork was super tender and flavourful and the flan with fermented rowan berries was balanced and a great way to finish h meal, but the scallops with celery vichyssoise was the star of our meal.As it’s a coffee bar during the day, had to finish with a flat white and a latte. It wasn’t busy the night we went, but it should be just as busy as Published if they keep up with the flavours, quality and sense of adventure.

Attended the glizzy night and had a pretty tasty hotdog. My only complaint is they ran out, by like, 7:30. I wish they had more than just one type of hotdog to sample as I was left with wanting more. Salad was good but on the pricey side for greens. Wish they had the an actual list for all their wine options, would speed things up for ordering.Overall, fun bougie hot dog night and I'll be back to see how these nights progress.

This place really exceeded my expectations, it is outstanding compared to most so called 'new style ' or 'west coast fusion ' small restaurants in the city. Dishes are well and carefully prepared, very tasty and subtle. The tasting menu is very nice and I hope they will also have a a la carte menu too.
